Key Responsibility (but not limited to):

1. The incumbent shall be responsible for conducting safety induction training to New employee including contractor employee and periodic job specific training, EHS & F related training etc for existing employee including contractor's employee.

2. To advise on safety aspects of all jobs and to carry out detailed job Safety analysis of selected job, process risk analysis like Hazop study, environmental aspect and impact assessment and update time to time.

3. The incumbent shall be responsible for conducting periodic EHS inspection, EHS Audits, & pursue implementation of recommendation.

4. Selection, use and inspection of PPEs and periodic inspection of lifting tools and tackles etc

5. To advise and assist on matters relating to carrying out safety inspections and safety observations by concerned departments,

6. To carry out the onsite emergency preparedness planning & Mock drill

7. Maintenance of fire Extinguisher monthly basis.

8. Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual report and maintain proper documentation to conform with record-keeping requirements and send to HOD-EHS.

9. To advise concerned departments on matters relating to reporting and investigation of causes of industrial accidents, near miss and diseases.

10. To promote setting up of safety committees and act as adviser and catalyst to such committees.

11. To organize, in collaboration with the concerned departments, campaigns, competitions, contests and other activities which will develop and maintain the interest of the workers in establishing and maintaining safe conditions of work and procedures

12. Monthly Accident/ incident summary report to be send to HOD-EHS within 1st week of next month.

13. Monitoring of Environmental parameter like Dust( PM2.5 and PM10), NOx, SOx and water effluent by third party lab and comprehensive analysis of the same in respect to exposure limit.

14. Implementation of Behavior Base safety to minimize the at-risk behavior.

15. To conduct promotional programme once in a year to create an awareness among all employee including contractor employee

16. To maintain PSM- process safety management system by co-ordinating with concern department or plant.

17. Maintain relevant EHS logs and documentation. - Assist in the compliance of applicable laws and regulation

18. Coordinate the purchase, proper use, maintenance, and inspection of necessary safety and personal protective equipment

19. Observe EHS regulations, wears all required safety equipment, encourages safe working practices, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnel.

20. Ability to work with employees and achieve cultural change in the face of potential resistance. - Maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees, as well as our customers and regulatory agencies.

21. Perform other work-related tasks as required and assigned.

22. Comply with all Company and EHS procedures and policies

23. Perform facility EHS inspections periodically and implement the recommendations points by convincing to concern department / plant.

24. Follow Fall Protection program, inspect all fall protection equipment and maintain inspection records

25. Assist in administering and maintaining Safety compliance programs such as LOTO, Hazard Communication, EAP, Hearing Conservation, PPE, Hot Work, Confined Spaces, Respiratory Protection, BBP, Work Permit System drill etc.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

1. % of employee including contractor employees trained in EHS.

2. No. of near misses recorded and counselling provided

3. % Employee satisfaction with work environment.

4. Adherence to Safety Committee Meetings for the Month

5. No. of employee audits and observations

6. No. of Safety meetings man hours imparted

7. Reportable accident free mandays and No. of Loss hours due to production stoppage due to accidents.

8. No. of EHS inspection carried out and % of recommendations solves.

Knowledge:

- Have knowledge and enforce compliance of regulatory requirements (i.e. The Factories Act, WBFR,WBFES, WBPCB, CCOE etc , )

- Preferable to complete training on ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and conversant with IS14489

- Bachelors Degree in any discipline, preferable in Chemical Engineering along with Diploma/ Degree/ PG in safety Engineering.
