ECONOMIST / MASS MEASUREMENT MANAGER

Looking for a technically skilled and customer-centric analyst to build and manage a team of economists in IN.

This position will be responsible for measuring the effectiveness of mass advertising spend – across all channels – through marketing mix modeling, econometric analyses and experimentation; and to inform future spend decisions (both mix across channels and the total budget). The incumbent will initially be tasked with evolving analytical tools/frameworks and performing the work to deliver against these objectives. This position, located in Bangalore, will directly report to the India analytics site lead and dotted line to the Global Measurement lead in Seattle.

This role requires an individual motivated to develop better than best-in-class analytics and needs to have excellent analytical abilities as well as outstanding business acumen and understanding of technical teams and systems. The successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, an ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

In addition to managing a team of 2-3 economists (located in Bangalore), this position will need to have substantial interaction with the analytics team located in Seattle as well as stakeholders in EU and Asia. International travel (esp to the US) is required.

Responsibilities include:

- Managing and evolving marketing mix models to retrospectively measure the financial impact of mass advertising spend, and inform volume and mix of future spend

- Measure financial impact of advertising campaigns

- Analyze the interaction between mass advertising and direct channels

- Calibrate the marketing mix models through carefully designed experiments

Basic Qualifications:

- Master’s degree in economics, statistics, computer science or a similar quantitative field

- 5+ years work experience in applied statistics and econometrics

- Strong knowledge of market mix modeling and Bayesian statistics

- Proficiency with SQL, SAS, R (or similar tools) required

- Atleast 3 years experience leading analytics teams of 5 or more.

- Strong ability to interact, communicate, present and influence within multiple levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications:

- Consumer Electronics experience, both US and international

- Experience handling large datasets

- Candidates with a Ph.D. in a relevant field are preferred
