eCommerce Business Manager

Job Purpose:

Manage, lead, and provide day to day business coordination and guidance to the corresponding (North America, UK/EU, APAC) eProcurement team. Effectively leading this team in the delivery of eProcurement and iBuy to strategic Premier Farnell (North America, UK/EU, APAC) customers. Along with management responsibilities this individual will also have a strong customer focus while continuing to have hands-on responsibilities in supporting the business and technical requirements for customers utilizing eProcurement and iBuy. The work will often be based on customer needs as well as the need to improve efficiency and the way the customers transact using electronic channels. This role works extensively with the corresponding sales teams and customers to promote the use of eCommerce channels, eProcurement, and iBuy as a way of improving Premier Farnell's P/L.

Principal Account-abilities;

- Demonstrate leadership by mentoring junior team members and contributing to overall eProcurement activities.

- Ensure knowledge transfer both within and between members of regional eProcurement teams.

- Provide status updates on all team activities to Management on a regular basis.

- Input into annual review cycle including Mid-Year and Year End Reviews, Objectives, ADP, and PDP setting for junior team members.

- Coordinate eProcurement regional team efforts.

- Work with sales teams to increase eCommerce eProcurement sales and contribute to revenue and profitability targets.

- Manage ongoing technical/business issues of large national and global eProcurement customers, including changes in 3rd party systems and migration to automated transactions.

- Provide input into developing annual sales targets and related strategies for growing eProcurement and iBuy sales within strategic accounts.

- Ensure large customer implementations meet cost reduction requirements associated with an eProcurement channel.

- Ensure maximum commercial benefit is obtained from the addition of new functionality, new product lines, and new technology enhancements.

- Project management of eProcurement related projects including releases of new sites, XML integrations and user testing to go live.

Key Challenges;

- Delegate tasks and workload to regional team members within the larger global team to ensure delivery of projects.

- Raise risks and issues with resourcing to Manager when appropriate.

- Motivate and maintain working successfully with both local and global team members.

- Maintain and evolve excellent working relationships, internally and externally.

- Work cross functionally with sales, B2B, and customers to implement customer requirements.

- Manage tight customer deadlines, multiple projects and stakeholder expectations.

- Relentless customer focus.

- Maintain in depth knowledge of eProcurement/web based technology and industry changes.

- Alignment with internal and external customers.

- Understanding of global capabilities/challenges for Premier Farnell customers.

Skills, Know How and experience;

- Minimum 5 years practical experience in managing eCommerce/eProcurement customer engagements.

- Qualifications either at educational level (Bachelor's Degree) or equivalent experience level.

- Knowledge of eCommerce web sites, eProcurement solutions (Ariba Buyer, SAP, Oracle) and associated electronic order integration (cXML, XML, EDI).

- Understanding dynamics of eCommerce/eProcurement in a global business environment.

- Demonstrated track record in developing strategic relationships and business opportunities.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels.

- Demonstrable experience of strong leadership and analytical skills.

- Ability to prioritize own workload and manage reports- time effectively in line with Business objectives and priorities.

- Strong interpersonal skills and confident communicator at all levels.

- Flexibility to adapt to changing business priorities.

- Ability to work calmly and effectively in high stress situations.

- Pragmatic approach to problem solving.

Job Dimensions;

Reporting to: Head of eProcurement and IBuy

Position Dimensions: These positions will have direct interaction with senior management at strategic multinational and global customer accounts and must be able to understand individual customer's procurement and needs, industry best practices and Premier Farnell's capabilities for meeting various customer needs. Must be able to work effectively with Sr. level sales management to understand customer's contract, pricing and overall procurement needs. EProcurement initiatives with large multi-national accounts are highly visible internally and externally and will have direct bearing on sales, customer satisfaction and overall service.

A critical component of the position is to represent Premier Farnell as the industry leader for eProcurement capabilities/solutions throughout the customer and sales network.

Travel Required: Less than 10%
