Role & Responsibilities - 

a) Determination of policy liabilities on market consistent basis including setting assumptions and methodology, developing and maintaining actuarial models, interacting with peer reviewer and management of valuation data.

b) Actuarial aspects of financial & shareholder reporting requirements of the company (such as economic capital, market consistent VNB, market consistent EV, Market Value Balance Sheet, Market Value Income Statement, US GAAP and Solvency II)

c) Preparation of the market-consistent part of the Actuarial Report and Abstract, Appointed Actuary's Annual Report and Financial Condition Report, and any ad-hoc report as requested by the stakeholders including IRDAI

d) Recommending actuarial valuation methodology and assumptions to the Appointed actuary

e) Peer review of pricing reports including review of models and appropriateness of assumptions

f) Monitoring and reporting economic solvency to the Board/ Regional Office

g) Drive/Support the company in transformation through Ind AS and RBC projects

h) Support in production of enterprise risk reports

i) Support in business planning and forecasts

j) Support in Reinsurance and performance of retention studies

k) Preparation of Board group materials related to all actuarial matters

l) Build, develop and retain a team of actuaries and actuarial students aligned to the company's objectives

Experience

- Minimum of eight years in life insurance with substantial experience in areas of corporate actuarial (statutory/shareholder reporting, experience analysis, and reinsurance)

- Preference will be given to those with hands on experience in with-profits business and US GAAP/IFRS/MCEV/Solvency II.

Knowledge of Prophet Software

Competencies

- Professionally updated with developments in actuarial world and IRDAI regulations.

- Strong written and analytical skills (e.g. interpret financial results, spot trends, produce well-structured and clearly written reports).

- Team player with ability to interact with other stakeholders and get the required support in delivery of goals.

- Leadership skills in managing own team, taking crucial decisions and creating structures for success.
