- Responsible for indirect tax compliance (tax payments and return filings) - Management of indirect tax related balance sheet accounts - Supervision of process of preparation of monthly Cenvat credit register (ensuring compliance to eligibility criteria set in Cenvat Credit Rules) and related coordination work such as arranging data, invoices, agreements, payment dates etc. - Preparation and review of reconciliations on taxes periodically and ensure integrity, completeness and accuracy in account reconciliation process - End to end assistance in Quarterly Internal Audit viz. upfront dealings with internal auditor, submission of data, preparation of responses to audit reports etc. - End to end assistance in CAG Audit (Thematic and Transactional) viz. upfront dealings with CAG auditor, submission of data, preparation of responses to half margins/ audit reports - End to end assistance in Statutory Audit and Limited Reviews - Management of Service tax audit and VAT Assessments including review of all substantive written submissions - Assistance in RBI Audit (from tax perspective) - Filing of all Annual GST returns and GST reconciliation for all the registrations across India - Working with Auditors and obtaining Annual GST Audit reports in Form GSTR-9 for all registrations across India - Ensuring that the invoices on which GST credit is taken by the company have been reported by the vendors to the GST Authorities - Assist with the formation and modification of key tax processes including compliance, related systems and automation of the same e.g implementation of BOT for reconciliation of GST - Responsible for issuance of invoices for Interchange (VISA, MC and RuPay) to all the banks on a monthly basis and their reporting on GST portal and reconciliation with books - Streamlining GST credit as well as output GST in Oracle (including AP corrections month on month) by ensuring complete RCA is provided by the outsourced firm doing invoice processing - Keeping a tab on the software being used for GST compliance purposes and ensuring that the same is in sync with the books of accounts - Reconciliation of Turnover as per GST returns with Turnover in the books of accounts - Review of tax positions and making sure that they are inline with newly introduced GST law - Review of calculation of GST working and returns prepared by AM Tax - Understanding of Tax integration in Oracle and on Cleartax software - Litigation &amp; Dispute Management - Analysis and finalization of tax positions adopted in relation to applicability of tax, tax returns and other filings - Management of Service tax returns, assessments and audits - Repository of litigation files and collation of documents required for litigation (exhaustive efforts on account of ageing data) - Deciding upon appeals and other legal recourses arising from disputed audits, assessments and subsequent appellate proceedings - Management of Service tax refunds / demands/ Assessments and litigation on PAN India basis - Engaging/ Managing requisite consultancy / legal firms for representation before assessing and audit authorities and managing them for effective representation before courts/ appellate authorities - Experience in drafting of appeals to be filed before Appellate authorities and vetting of appeals prepared by law firms on behalf of the company - Ensuring that the company is compliant with Anti Profiteering measures and working with consultants to adequately document the same - Keeping a track of various orders passes by Authority for Advance Ruling (AAR), National Anti Profiteering Authority (NAA), High Courts etc. on questions of interpretation of newly introduced GST law and ensuring that the company is compliant with ever changing tax regime - Assistance in advocacy efforts with industry bodies, Government and other stakeholders with respect to proposed changes in law and industry tax issues e.g. making representations for changes in GST Provisions adversely impacting the banking and credit card industry Project &amp; Initiative : - Assist &amp; Drive management / tax driven projects &amp; related requirements from tax prespective e.g. impelementing new paches in newly implemented Oracle for proper tax accounting, etc. - Project Support for the projects e.g. Vision Plus migration, Merger of two entities, RuPay/ Amex launch, etc. - Work with cross-functional team (marketing, finance etc.) for transactional support on new product and business development activities - COF Savings through tax initiatives e.g. taking GST credit on eligible items, cross charging GST for inter branch billing, etc - Stake holder Management &amp; Cross functional support - Managing overall engagement/ relationship and terms &amp; conditions with all tax vendors/ advisors - Tax advice to internal customers on various matters, tax vetting of agreements, contracts, proposals, invoices and other misc. communications - To advice business about the changes in the tax laws &amp; to explore the possibilities for optimizing the effective tax rate for the company e.g. by analysing changes in tax positions bases new case laws and other developments - Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with the tax authorities, relevant members of the business and functional teams, other members of tax team and external service providers - Engagement with JV leadership: To advise on status of ongoing disputes, legislative developments having business impact - Following up with various functions on the GST credit not reported by their vendors and ensuring successful closure thereby reducing tax contingencies for the company - Ensuring accurate and timely data inputs to all stake holders whenever required &amp; 100% ATR closure within board approved timelines Team Management (10%) : - Lead and Engage with people - to ensure high retention levels through performance management, learning &amp; development and career paths. Motivate the team to achieve goals within the agreed timelines - Supervise, train, and mentor team on tax projects and assess performance of staff for engagement reviews; perform in-charge role as needed - Guide the team on latest changes in law and their impact - Take new initiatives for Simplification &amp; Automation of processes and execute new ideas to strengthen tax processes - Transperant feedback sharing - 100% compliance for all the deposits &amp; filings with zero misses - Ensure minimal escalations - Clean audit report or reports with minimal objections - Reduction in number of disputes &amp; clearance of refunds - Favorable orders and timely appearance in litigation - Sucessful implementation of projects to bring efficiency/ Tax savings - CA with 8 - 10 years experience in Tax Team in large company or Multinational Companies in GST.
