Regulatory Affairs Manager, India GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

- The Regulatory Affairs Manager leads regulatory approvals and manages compliance for the diverse DuPont Nutrition and Health (N&H) portfolio in food ingredients, related food application and dietary supplements in India.

- The role works in collaboration with Regulatory and Scientific Affairs Lead, Regional Regulatory team, Global Coordinators, Sales and Application of Food Ingredients (SAFI), Marketing and Communication teams. This position reports to the Regional Director, Regulatory and Scientific Affairs, Asia Pacific.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Develop strategy and networks to enable regulatory solutions to support both product and technology innovation delivery.

- Provide advice and assessment to support new product and new technology development.

- Develop strategy and networks to enable regulatory solutions to support both product and technology innovation delivery.

- Support advocacy and compliance activities across the DuPont N&H portfolio.

- Interpret and communicate food standards and regulations to internal business partners, including opportunities and risks.

- Approve marketing materials.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITES Regulatory Compliance :

- Support all aspects of obtaining and maintaining registrations.

- Ensure regulatory compliance for all innovation activity in N&H and advise on regulatory options and solutions.

- Lead in maintaining product life cycle.

- Monitor and analyze regulatory trends, ensure adherence to established regulatory guidelines.

- Participate in product stewardship reviews.

- Provide expert and timely knowledge on regulatory compliance, risks and opportunities to broader Regulatory Organization (regional and global teams).

Relationship Management :

- Partner with Global Regulatory Coordinators in each Business Unit to support product innovation plans spelling out compliance and regulatory changes.

- Ensure an overview of trends and developments in food supplement is maintained, with briefings provided to Dietary Supplements business meetings on developing issues and opportunities.

- Exercise the diplomacy and maturity required to operate in a global matrix organisation.

Job Qualifications :

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS / EXPERIENCE :

- MS in life sciences or related field and at least 6 years of experience in food science and technology, nutrition, biochemistry, regulatory affairs in the food industry. Experience working with diverse cultures is a plus.

- Makes sound commercial decisions based on a thorough understanding of the local business.

- Understands commercial drivers and is comfortable in finding cost effective solutions.

- Knowledge of regulatory requirements to gain approval for food ingredients and dietary supplements.

- General knowledge of scientific methods in R&D and Quality.

- Proven track record of successful submissions and influence of regulations/regulators in food ingredients and dietary supplements.

- Successfully impacted product introduction and product compliance by providing regulatory guidance and/or successfully influenced decisions at plants to implement change.

- Ability to deal with ambiguity and communicate recommendations on options to solve business problems clearly.

- Honesty in defining gaps and failures, and find solutions to achieve business goals.

- Demonstrate strong influence on the success of future products and processes.

- Consistent proactive and problem solving mindset putting internal and external customer's priorities at the core. Having track record of being a strong team player is a must.

- Excellent skills in influencing and supporting others as a team.

- Excellent planning, organizational and communication skills.

- Ability to function in multidisciplinary and virtual environment.

- Flexibility to accommodate occasional after hours work as global needs require.

- Excellent communication skills in English (verbally, in writing, and in presentations) and competency in working knowledge of another Asian language is a plus.

- Competency in computer/software tools needed for job.
