Drums Food - Finance Controller

The Financial Controller's role at Drums Food is to execute financial controls with respect to the company's P&L and cash flow from the beginning to end of the supply chain. This role is a senior strategic role and works directly with the CEO.

Drums Food is one of the fastest growing start-ups in the F&B (Food & Beverage) and the FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) space. In order to keep pace with the explosive growth, the company is looking for a key member to join and head up the finance & accounting functions at the company. The Financial Controller role is responsible for all aspects of financial decision making by the company. S/he is tasked with collecting, analyzing, investigating, reporting, and controlling financial data and cash.

Key deliverables are:

A) Providing and presenting monthly Profit & Loss statements for decision making.

B) Maintaining strict financial controls within the organization ensuring cash flow viability and strategic management of working capital.

C) Identifying and capturing unit level economics and steering the company to profitability.

D) Presenting and executing solutions for cutting costs by identifying data to investigate.

An important focus for the Controller is also to identify gaps and problem areas pertaining to the company's overall MIS and accounting systems. This role requires a deadline oriented person who is able to create a financial operating system from scratch and think like an entrepreneur.

Specific Tasks/Responsibilities include:

- Develop and hire a strong back end accounts and finance team.

- Oversee preparation of monthly statements by collecting data; analyzing and investigating variances; summarizing data, information, and trends.

- Oversee the entire book keeping process for the company- entries, etc.

- Manage cash flows through strategic management of working capital (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Inventory) via relationships and contracts with vendors and customers.

- Employ financial control techniques to ensure company profitability.

- Respond to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data.

- Provide financial advice by studying operational issues; applying financial principles and practices; developing recommendations.

- Prepare budgets, variance reports, and develops forecasts.

- Provide and prepare data for any inquiry by auditors and Board Members.
