Location: Biologics, Hyderabad

Purpose :

Portfolio Team's emphasis would be on getting information within the function towards ensuring we make the right choices in product selection, can we win, is it worth it kind of analysis based on external and in-house data. The role is expected to create value in product differentiation / technology / LCM selection & deployment. Evaluate multiple product options that would be fit for our strategy for EM and DM geographies. The core purpose is to bridge the gap between Strategy and Implementation.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the thinking around portfolio strategy development for EM and RM through evaluation of competitive environment, IP, opportunity for market creation/business case, etc.

- Build the Research around information needed to effectively ensure portfolio strategy is being informed by solid qualitative and analysis.

- Develop and own portfolio recommendations based on fit, strategy and assessment including competition, business case, industry trends, IP, KOL insights, market research, internal and external capability

- Is the Node for synthesis of multi-lateral input

- Validates assumptions underpinning potential selections in EM and RM

- Value assessment of product and technology in-licensing opportunities and would include estimation of tentative budgets, market entry dates & expenditure forecast

- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure tactics are clearly linked to strategy, and creatively developed with overall strategy in-mind by implementing management execution frameworks such as portfolio reviews, balanced scorecards, and strategy maps

- Periodic review of approved products & business cases

- Create and maintain a pipeline of Biotech products; Lead in-depth analysis for each pipeline asset to make recommendations on prioritization; and maintain up-to-date information of various technical and financial aspects in Internal pipeline database

- Identify opportunities to diversify Biologics business, within the framework provided by the Senior leadership in the areas of life cycle management, technology differentiation

- Assist Portfolio Management Head in Stage Gate reviews & maintain the value of the portfolio basket by thought partnership on strategic action needed in re-prioritization, or corrective action.

Operating Network:

Interface with Strategy, BD, IP, Early Stage product development, Program Management, Finance, and Senior Leadership of the Business Unit.

Educational & Experience:

- 10-12 years of experience in biotech drug development in broad roles

- Experience in portfolio selection/ program management/ new technology initiatives preferred.

- Educational Qualification - Advanced Science degree PhD or MD preferred; Other advanced science degree may be considered if backed with relevant experience in portfolio management.

- MBA is a strong plus.

- Commercial Knowledge with Healthcare/Pharmaceutical industry experience, with therapy area knowledge in Oncology and/or Immunology is a strong plus

- Multinational pharmaceutical company experience is a strong plus.

- Knowledge or Regulator and/or IP matters related to Biotech development is a strong plus.

- Knowledge of Emerging markets, especially with regard to reimbursement, payers, structure, access is a strong plus.

Key Personal Attributes:

Desirable candidates should have the following abilities:

- Excellent communication skills in English; both verbal and written

- Strong management skills

- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

- Solid understanding of drug product development processes, clinical trial applications, and product license applications; preferably with experience with biologic products

- General understanding of Portfolio Management (Emerging and Developed Markets)

- Experience with various database systems, portfolio visualization tools is a strong advantage.
