DMI Finance - Associate - Finance - Road/Infrastructure Sector - CA/CFA

1. JOB PURPOSE:

The job entails supporting the business in managing the portfolio of investment and in evaluation of new opportunities, specially in the Roads Sector.

2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Deal Evaluation

a. Preparing financial models, preparing transaction materials and ensuring proper documentation of transaction

b. Undertaking valuations using various techniques, underwriting debt

c. Undertaking due diligence for prospective opportunities (majorly roads but at times other sectors as well)

d. Working extensively with external advisors and diligence partners to determine project cost, expected project timelines, evaluating bill of quantities (BOQs), analyzing contractual documentation etc. Cross evaluating the of the project due-diligence findings.

e. Visit project sites to judge progress, project feasibility, counter party's capabilities to execute project, assess level of machinery and mobilization etc.

- Understanding of infra (specially Roads) will be desirable but not a pre-requisite

2. Portfolio Monitoring

a. Monitoring progress for invested projects to highlight issues on a timely basis. This needs to be achieved by working actively with on-site teams.

b. Create a robust MIS system to monitor project progress on daily basis.

c. Highlight any potential delays and cost over-runs which may delay the project. Come up with solutions to mitigate these delays.

d. Preparing periodic update on the invested projects for presenting it to the investment committee

3. Sectoral Research

a. Remain updated about the active bid pipeline, upcoming projects, and promising players in the road sector

4. In-House Operations and Compliance

a. Assessing on an ongoing basis, in-house compliance requirements and ensuring the same are met

b. Working closely with the operations team for both prospective investments and portfolio firms

Educational Qualifications:

a) Qualifications

- Minimum Qualification required: CA or MBA or BE Civil or B.Arch.

- Qualifications preferred: CFA/FRM as additional qualification is preferable.

b) Work Experience :

- 2-6 years of experience

- Experience in road sector financing, investing, syndication etc

- Experience in financial modelling including complex iterative macro-vba based models.

Financial Dimensions:

- Evaluate at least 20-25 projects/deals in a year with the team

- Portfolio Management ability of at least 4 companies
