The Business Development Manager is responsible for exploring business opportunities to maximize revenue and sales opportunities for the organization in the existing channels. In this role, the Business Development Manager will assist in developing the Sales- the strategy to expand business through the existing channels by generating high quality leads that will invite new projects and accounts, pitching business proposals to clients, negotiating and closing sales. We strongly prefer candidates who have had an exposure to Rural sales or in selling Agricultural products of any kind! Key Responsibilities : - Conduct strong research to understand the industry and competitor base - Use knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators, as well as strengthen the existing customer value propositions - Create different business strategies to increase market penetration. Collaborate with other functions wherever required - Generate leads among the identified prospective channels/partners and establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in the channels identified - Plan approaches and pitches, and develop proposals that speak to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives. - Own complete business development cycle from lead generation to getting the new customer onboard - Proactively lead a joint partner planning process to develop mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones associated with a productive partner relationship - Lead solution development efforts that best address end-user needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company and partner personnel. - Finalize the commercials as well as the customer value proposition in collaboration with the partner(s) - Proactively assess, clarify, and validate partner needs on an ongoing basis, with regular follow-ups even after the customer/partner has been onboarded - Represent the company on different forums such as conferences, events, expos and corporate gatherings - Develop case studies and other professionally created sales collateral in collaboration with marketing Successful Candidate Profile : - Education - MBA in rural/agri business from premier institution (IRMA, TISS preferred) - 4 to 8 years of business development experience (preferably in industries that target rural population) - Possesses a strong network of contacts within the industry to expand the market base and to establish business relationships with companies selling similar or complementary products - Has extensive experience across all aspects of Sales, from Lead generation to final customer conversion - Displays excellent planning and organizing skills, number-crunching skills, and has an eye for detail - Possesses great communication, presentation, and pitching skills - Is a motivated and focused individual with an advanced degree of interpersonal skills - Has the ability to write compelling and winning business proposals - Should be open to traveling within India on a regular basis
