Director - Valuation Control - Investment Bank

Your role :

We are looking for someone to use their expertise and join team in Mumbai

- Supervise and facilitate Structured Finance and Credit Valuation Control Service (VCS) delivery in India (Mumbai)

- Lead various projects/audits/India initiatives, etc.

- Build strong working relationships with all key areas within the organization, including India Management, onshore counterparts, Front office, Financial Control Services and business unit controllers

- Supervise and review Independent Price Verification(IPV) results and reserve calculations for complex structured finance and credit products

- Work across asset class teams globally to understand the business and the drivers for IPV, valuation reserves and uncertainty calculation under prudential valuation standards.

- Understanding and assessing the impact of various regulatory changes on the IPV process and designing processes for new reporting requirements.

- Review and challenge existing valuation techniques and proactively implement enhancements which preclude any significant error in future

- Work with the Valuation Methodology team to perform ongoing reviews of valuation techniques to adapt to changing market conditions.

- Work closely with other control groups and front office

Your team : 

The role exists within the Valuation Control Group which is part of Group Finance. The function is responsible for the validation of the final reported valuations of complex structured products through a combination of independent price verification (IPV) and reserving techniques. The function is organized vertically by asset class and also has a Valuation Oversight & Consistency team organized horizontally across all asset classes. The VCG team is spread globally with key centers in India, London, New York, Hong Kong and Singapore, with more than 70% of the team in India, responsible for performing 90% of the front to back valuations work, including complex deliverables

Your expertise : 

Masters Degree in Finance/ Engineering from an institute of repute / CFA, 10 to 15 years of experience in Finance industry working in financial product valuations, research, valuation methodologies or similar profiles.

- Ability to critically think, review & challenge valuation methodologies.

- Strong understanding of structured products pricing concepts and associated risks
