One of my clients which is into Online Retail space is looking for candidates for different verticals.

Title: Director / Sr. Director - Fashion Trends & Taste (9 to 15 years max)

Expectations from the Client :

Position: Director Buying - Fashion Trends & Taste

Reporting to the VP Soft-lines Retail

Job Responsibilities:

- Responsible for planning and selecting the product range, considering customer demand, market trends, financial budgets, price, quality and availability

- Review existing items to ensure products remain competitive.

- Analyse consumer buying patterns and predict future trends

- Regularly review performance indicators, such as sales and discount levels

- Keeping up to date with market trends and react to changes in demand

- Oversee the buying team’s trend forecasting and range planning process

- Inspire, lead and direct the buying team, in the development of operating plans, ensuring alignment of objectives across the process.

- Guide the buying team to ensure correct brand and product mix that is in line with Fashion strategy at all times

- Work on future growth plans of business and the introduction of new categories in a thoughtful and relevant manner.

- Work with cross functional teams to support pricing and product strategy

Required skills:

- Extensive relevant experience in fashion retailing, preferably within a multi-brand environment

- Ability to understand customer needs and use that knowledge commercially

- Proven track record of delivering incremental sales growth

- Able to demonstrate significant previous experience of leading and working in cross functional teams.

- Confidence in suggesting calculated risks and ability to create business opportunities and follow through.
