Director - Software Engineering

- The job includes responsibility for the leadership, actions and team development of a technology team located in Bangalore. The emphasis of the job is on development and commercialization of new products and solutions through persistent and creative leverage of existing offering

- Lead the Industry leading Forge Connected Buildings product teams for the product offering. The primary focus is on improving overall efficiency and productivity of deliveries for the suite of Cloud products to provide compelling solutions.

- Lead software development teams for Forge Offerings around Portfolio Optimization, Energy optimization and Digitized Maintenance. Also manager teams for legacy product for commercial security offerings, in particular video, access, intrusion and related security offerings along with analytics and integrated security solutions.

- Technical management skills will include: knowledge of the Internet of Things (IOT) technology stack including connectivity protocols, software technologies like Hadoop, Kubernetes, Kong, Dremio, etc., time series databases, public cloud platforms such as MSFT Azure, big data analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, asset and performance management, and working knowledge of DevSecOps principles including CI/CD.

- Work closely with strategic marketing, product/program management and HUE to help develop value proposition and solutions to meet customer's unmet needs.

- Work closely with systems hardware leader for CAAS, Niagra and EBI to develop end-end solutions

- Provide strategic and technical leadership and oversight in the development and implementation of functional engineering best practices and in the planning and execution of product and technology roadmap.

- Research new technologies to enhance competitive position and profitability and formulate research and development programs to implement them.

- Drive platforming needs across different product lines and businesses to develop best in class solutions

- Should have experience in managing both Product Development and Sustenance engineering teams

- Drive growth and innovation within a culture of technology, research, development and engineering functions by facilitating an environment of teamwork and desire to be the best.

- Stakeholder Management - Collaborate with other areas (Operations, SRE, Performance, Platform, Release Management) as necessary to obtain efficient solutions in addition to driving more strategic efforts that involve the fleet

- Estimate tasks and meet milestones and deadlines appropriately while reporting progress to management

- Provide regular qualitative assessment to executives which include metric gathering and real-time status of the current condition of the fleet as it pertains to our customers

- Strong people and program management skills are mandatory

- Working knowledge on AOP Planning and financial program management

- A Masters or Ph.D. in Engineering or Computer Science, from a school with a strong program in technology research and development/project management is required, with an MBA or relevant business experience a plus.
