DIRECTOR/SENIOR DIRECTOR - QA/QE ORGANISATION

We have an exciting role for a hands-on Senior Director (QA Test Development and Execution). We are looking for a highly motivated technical person who will help drive change and help others to constantly come up with better solutions to evaluate product quality, performance and the customer experience; as well as make suggestion for improvements. We are looking for someone who does not just know how to solve problems, but who helps define the problems and direction, creates value, and pioneers new frontiers in Quality Assurance.

The Senior Director QA Test Development and Execution will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, implementation and support for test automation solutions. This highly motivated individual will also lead the test execution team responsible for both automated and manual test programs and assure seamless operation between the automation development and test execution teams, and will work very closely with the stakeholder teams in across geographies (India & USA)

This leader will drive the development/execution teams to deliver at high quality, on-schedule, on budget, and with premium products successfully deployed to the field. This individual will manage project teams, oversee the development and test execution work streams, driving quality and cost-effective solutions across all work streams in India. Will lead the teams who adapt automation solutions to the fast-paced DevOps paradigm, quickly tailoring solutions to help identify, reproduce, and triage lab/field defects. This individual will drive a culture of continuous improvement across all supported teams and work streams and work closely with senior leadership to create and monitor critical KPI and metrics programs. Able to establish and maintain automation development/execution standards, procedures and methods to enable seamless and efficient operation of development/test work streams. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Drives the teams, which act as key contributors in a complex and crucial environment..

Core Responsibilities

- Provide strategic leadership and executive oversight to all aspects of department projects and activities

- Fosters strong client/partner relationship and collaboration skills and drives the culture throughout organization

- Work with managers and engineering leads to design and implement department performance metrics

- Lead teams embedded with devops partners and implement standards cost-effective product testing

- Review project progress, evaluates results and leads in defining corrective actions and process improvements

- Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the high performance organization

- Develop and manage performance metrics; aggressively pursue corrective actions via incident retrospectives

- Comfortable in working with large, complex test programs; able to effective lead across organizations

- Proven experience in leading large, agile test organizations operating in the devops model

- Strong written and verbal communications skills; able to effectively present to varied audiences

- Drive organization-wide quality process improvements in coordination with other devops partners

- Proven ability to establish and lead fast-paced agile test organizations, develop staffing at all levels

- Strong background in leading scheduling, estimating, and developing departmental budgets and staffing

- Familiar with modern software development/test tooling and applications (Java, Python, Jira, Rally, EKL, Splunk)

- Experience in implementing high performance test automation frameworks - like IOT, DevOps

- Motivates and mentors staff at all levels to achieve strategic departmental goals

- Proven experience in developing business goals/objectives and defines standards to achieve these goals

- Manages top talent and controls attrition effectively

Expertise/Technical Skills

- Experience in working with sophisticated test automation environments and frameworks

- Preferred experience in Windows, Linux; HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, Webservices

- Required experience in modern SW test tooling, methods and automated test systems and frameworks

- Experience in delivering quality products and supporting the life cycle of the product

- Experience in working across cultures and different time zones

- Experience in setting up teams and leading them to deliver

Education and Work Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Masters (Preferred) or above in Computer Science or related technical field

- Minimum 15+ years of experience in QA HW/SW test, preferred experience in leading large organizations

- Proven leadership experience within an agile/devops software product development/test organization
