Director - Sales - Chemical & Environmental Technologies(process equipment selling to chemical Industry)


Position: Director Sales - Chemical & Environmental Technologies - Vadodara


Location: Vadodara, Gujarat

Reporting to: Head of BU Chemical & Environment Technologies

Required Experience: Min 11 - 15 years' experience in similar functions (5 years as a manager)

Required Experience:

- Business development and sales experience.

- Application knowhow, end-to-end process expertise is desired.

- Strong Customer / market orientation & service focus

- Ability to lead and develop diverse teams, strong top line and target orientation with a strong people orientation.

- English (proficient), preferably local language (fluent)

- Ability to lead & deliver top line, target focus with people orientation.

- An entrepreneurial mindset, taking ownership of the work, assignments, successes and mistakes.

- High performance and result orientation

- Interpersonal skills (power of persuasion, conviction and well-argued reasoning, & build up relationships with relevant decision makers and stakeholders)

- Personal drive and a good balance between being a hands-on manager and the ability to think and act strategically.

- Ability to motivate team for continuous improvement

Required Education Background: University Degree in Engineering (preferably in Chemical Engineering)

Job Description:

- Leading, managing and coaching the sales team for Chemical & Environmental Technologies (Evaporation, Drying, Crystallization, Vacuum Systems, Pollution Control & Heat Recovery systems etc). Taking full responsibility for the Order Intake (OI) target, agreed as per agreed budgets.

- Developing and driving the prospect pipeline by driving business development through team as well as personal involvement.

- Developing Sales Manager/Engineer for each of the technologies and prepare their development plan.

- Develop customer contact MATRIX (Connect with customer side Sr. Management) / Personal connect with customers.

- Managing and reporting all sales activities, enquiries, customer reports and contact details.

- Develop case-by-case "Strategy" to win the target projects.

- Keeping an active relationship network in the market, meet customers, influence sales process (with technological superiority/advantages), take active part / drive sales, develop case by case sales strategy together with team members.

- Regular accurate forecasting of all sales prospects/activities

- Presenting at exhibitions, conferences, and seminars.

- The role involves extensive travel, up to 50-60% of the time.
