Director - Risk & Control - Investment Bank

Details about the position:

Position: Director – Risk & Control

Location: Pune

Requisites:

- Substantial experience in Cash Equities front to back processing/Trade Flow

- Sound knowledge of the reconciliation and reporting process

- Clear understanding of operational risks and mitigating controls

- A minimum of ten years of securities industry experience

- At least five years in a managerial position

- Strong track record of building and leading a new team

Responsibilities:

- Risk oversight of all local operational departments

- Assist the Head of SCRC to develop a strong operational risk culture locally

- Timely escalation and periodic reporting to the Head on all risk issues and their resolution.

- Identify control issues and gaps within operational processes and work with relevant Department Heads to put in mitigating controls proactively

- Oversee the Risk and Control teams’ productivity & priorities to ensure high standards, as well as strengthening relationships with key stakeholders across the business

- Perform and coordinate framework risk components including:

- Operational Risk Reporting and Analysis

- New Business Initiatives (NPA) Risk Reviews

- Record Operational risk incidents and associated process breakdowns

- Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA) and due-diligence reviews

- Ensure that sufficient MI is mined to provide capacity and quality measurements

- Global Network Management

- Represent the local operational departments in coordinating with internal and external auditors as necessary, including ensuring that audit points are sufficiently addressed and closed

- Challenge the status quo by serving as an internal risk consultant to the operating functions and business lines.
