Director - Medical Writing
To be an integral part of a strategic team for the following-
- Provide functional area leadership in Medical Writing and Document Publishing group to ensure consistent processes and excellence ( e.g: deliverables including scientific reports, support for publication activities, scientific presentations and promotional material etc.)
- Advise leadership on various updates in the area of Medical Writing and potential areas of growth and Expansion (includes end to end integrated delivery model )
- Ensure in collaboration with Operations that Medical Writing & Document Publishing organization meets time, quality, and cost targets
- Support in Recruitment and training of highly skilled Medical Writers & Document Publishers
- Actively participate in site leadership team and ensure cross-functional collaboration
- Ensure that learnings from various projects are shared and applied across engagements and apply strategies to achieve continuous process improvement toward excellence in deliverables.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Actively work with Business Development team to explore new opportunities and expansion of current business
- Provide SME support for RFPs, client interaction and bid defence
- Programme-manage[12] MW-DP projects throughout their life-cycle complete with scoping, sourcing, management, risk mitigation and customer satisfaction
- Provide oversight and guidance on escalations, trainings[13] and quality aspects
- Closely work with the continuous improvement teams to improve productivity, quality and efficiency
- Run a robust quality management system; identify and implement metrics to achieve SLA adherence
- Enhance competencies in existing document types[14] and develop newer competencies
- Contribute to an integrated model offering end-to-end clinical research services
- Develop training material in various formats to create a knowledge base (modules, toolkits, certifications)
- Build and maintain a skills inventory and a competency model for MW-DP
Education & Experience:
- Medical Degree (MBBS or MD) with 10+ yrs of relevant experience
- Advanced knowledge of clinical research processes ,drug development & Regulatory Requirements
- At least 4 years in senior management position
- Strong knowledge and Experience in Medical Writing ( CSRs, Narratives , PSURS, DSRs, Literature Writing etc.)
- Excellent management skills, preferably in global pharmaceutical company
- Excellent interpersonal skills, matrix management and leadership skills
- Good knowledge of document creation, management and relevant IT tools
- Clear, concise scientific style with attention to details; Excellent data interpretation and presentation skills
- Proven ability to work under tight timelines
- Excellent commercial awareness and business knowledge
