Job Title: Director - Medical Services
Reports To: CEO
Objective
To ensure smooth functioning of the Hospitals chain from medical services perspective and successfully control & monitor in terms of planning, designing & development of medical facilities in the AMRI group of Hospitals.
Principal Accountabilities
(A) Strategic
- Define the core policies and procedures of medical services at Group Level and Unit level.
- Initiate measures for world class quality assurance which would lead to Accreditation of Hospitals for NABL /NABH/JCI
- Actively involves in key decision making and recommend and approve policies and procedures accordingly.
- Participate in periodic evaluation of policies and procedures of medical services and suggest changes as and when required to ensure optimum patient satisfaction.
- Lead the Core Committees formed for Quality Assurance, Pharmacy, Infection Control, Safety and Medical Care, Medical Audit etc.
- Determine, recommend, control and evaluate the requirement of Medical / Paramedical / Nursing manpower in close coordination with respective Heads and Human Resources.
- Develop and drive various process flows and SOPs across all locations.
- Formulate, execute and support various academic courses / programs e.g. DNB, Diploma / Certificate courses for Medicos / Paramedics / Nursing etc.
- Support CEO in planning and procurement of medical equipments for all new and existing units.
- Closely work with CEO and Head of HR in controlling manpower costs pertaining to his area.
(B) Operational
- Facilitate communication, interpretation and implementation of Management decisions regarding Hospital policies and processes to Medical / Paramedical / Nursing staff.
- Support CEO and Head Human Resources in identifying Star Consultants and closing them as per Hospital requirements.
- Actively participate in contract negotiations and renewals (Doctors) in close coordination with CEO and Head Human Resources.
- Ensure round the clock coverage of Doctors / Paramedical Staff in the Hospital for seamless patient care.
- Formulate a system to ensure disseminating of information gained from various quality assurance programs to concerned Doctors, Paramedical Team and other appropriate personnel.
- Participate in quality review of care within the facility in those specific areas mandated by law (e.g. drug level monitoring, laboratory indicator monitoring etc.).
- Inform Physicians and Paramedics about changes in policies / procedures / protocols.
- Participate and encourage in-service education and training activities for Doctors / Paramedics and Nursing and suggest topics for in-service training through observation and evaluation of patient care.
- Interact with employees / Consultants / HOD's of each area and identifies various requirements and medical administration related problems / issues / concerns.
- Support Marketing and Medical services team to organize various Medical Camps and arrange for specialty Doctors, Paramedical staff and Nursing support in coordination with Unit Heads.
- The Medical Director keeps staff members informed of potential health hazards and safety measures undertaken accordingly.
- Provide inventory management guidelines to the Consultants of the concerned departments and also perform periodic Audits.
- Participate in the formulation of Annual Budget and Manpower planning.
- Actively involved in the Appraisal process for Doctors, Paramedics and Nursing.
- Assist in Internal Audits of the concerned areas and help in implementation of audit reports.
- Supervise day to day operational and administrative aspects of all Hospitals pertaining to Medical Services.
- Initiate and participate in disciplinary actions for his team members.
Educational Qualification
Essential: MBBS with MBA/ MHA / M.Phil in Hospital Management/ Hospital Administration
Preferable: MD
Industry Preference: Hospital or Healthcare
Experience : Around 20 years experience with a well known Hospital Brand with minimum 5 years in Hospital Administration/Management
