Director - Investment Banking - M&A

About the client: A for profit Social Enterprise providing business solutions to the organisations working for impact.

Purpose of the Role:

- To co-head the Investment Banking Group (IBG) and co-own the P&L of the business.

- To provide the overall leadership for the team and be responsible for growing the overall business, especially M&A along with the existing Director

Role & Responsibilities:

- Origination of M&A transactions

- Develop and implement the business plan for the Investment Banking Group of the organisation along with the existing Director

- Grow the investment banking practice of the firm with a special focus on building the M&A advisory business.

- Focus on originating new mandates for the firm, particularly M&A transactions

- Provide oversight on successful execution of mandates to achieve business unit targets

- Develop institutional relationships with potential clients as well as PE/VC investor community

- Generate new business ideas, ventures and service offerings that could add to the firm’s existing revenue generation ability

Qualifications:

- MBA from Premium B-School or equivalent

Prior Experience:

- Minimum 15 years of proven experience of M&A advisory and/or PE/VC fund raising for growth stage companies, preferably in one or more of the organisation’s focus sectors (Financial Inclusion, Education, Healthcare, Clean Energy, Agri/ Livelihood)

Competencies required:

- Comprehensive knowledge of financial markets and investment banking business

- Ability to plan, execute and deliver on projects in a timely manner

- Attention to detail, organized and thorough with desire for continuous improvements

- Strong entrepreneurship drive, excellent managerial skills, self-confidence, good judgment and ability to make sound decisions

- Strong team-player with excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation and public speaking skills

- Positive personality with strong interpersonal skills
