Director Internal Audit for Investment Bank

Role :

The role will provide quality, efficient and effective assurance and influence business managers to improve control and contribute to IA strategic initiatives.

What the Business Does :

- The Role is in Internal Audit and reports to the Line Manager

Your responsibilities :

- Responsible for undertaking tasks delegated to them by Accountable Auditors to perform audit work on complex and large size audits (e.g. audits of High or Medium-High Risk related audit universe entities; Enhanced Scrutiny Engagements)

- Actively contributes to the wider strategic initiatives of the Internal Audit function

- Contributes to continuous risk assessment and monitoring, often taking responsibility for a particular business area or risk element. Allocates and manages work required in their support of this goal.

- Inputs into the Plan for assigned business area(s) on an ongoing basis.

- Oversees a portfolio of engagements at any one point in time ensuring that engagements are delivered to budget and on time.

- Oversees that engagement teams comply with methodology and appropriately use the tools available.

- Monitors business performance to check that outstanding issues are effectively monitored and resolved in a reasonable timeframe.

- Acting on behalf of the Board and the Executive to provide independent assurance over the key risks to the organisation, which includes an assessment of material elements of the control framework.

The skills you will need :

- Experienced manager with strong risk and/or internal audit experience.

- Strong understanding of front to back investment banking operations.

- Extensive knowledge of key COO transaction and client processes as they pertain to NatWest Markets, as well as the associated risk and controls. These primarily relate to Client Operations and Delivery, Post Trade Services and Funding, Collateral Management and Futures Operations and Trade & Transaction Reporting.

- Proven competence to deliver projects on time and to budget.

- An ability to actively identify and help develop talent.
