This is a senior position within the Finance and accounting division of a Global Investment Bank.
- This is a substantial management role, hence, this person is expected to be able to function with minimal oversight.
- It will report into the Senior Director responsible for all FA
- This person is expected to contribute to strategic direction, operational improvement and to be “hands-on” in dealing with any significant operational issues that might arise.
Responsibilities:
Financial and Regulatory Reporting:
- Have a good knowledge of all the reporting requirements being delivered from the Small Entity Hub for each location supported
- Ensure that appropriate escalation processes and issue logs are in place for all teams to make sure operational issues are captured and the root causes are systematically addressed
Stakeholder Management:
- Manage the overall relationship with the onshore locations via Service Level Agreements (“SLA’s”) definition, Key Performance Indicator (“KPI”) monitoring, regular review calls
- Provide a point for issue escalation for Onshore Teams or CoE Team Leads
Staffing:
- Ensure the appropriate staffing levels and experience across the teams in the Small Entity Hub, especially in respect of the Team Lead roles
- Each of the 14 location teams will be led by a VP or AVP
- Ensure appropriate training, development and skill sharing is in place for all staff members and managers
- Ensure appropriate resource allocation between hub teams (e.g. sharing staff between teams during peak periods to ensure optimal workload balancing including balancing teams between timezones)
- Knowledge management - ensure knowledgeable backups exist for all roles, if necessary due to small team size cross sharing backup resources between different teams
- Support the Team Leads in their work and in managing the various stakeholders
Processes & Systems:
- Have a strategic overview of the processes, controls and systems operating in the small entity hub
- Ensure appropriate KPIs are in place to measure process efficiency and effectiveness
- Develop and implement plans to standardize processes and continually improve process efficiency and effectiveness, leveraging IT investment and/or process rationalization as appropriate
- Effectively manage non-core processes and transfer to the relevant departments as appropriate
- Contribute to the FA/CFO system and process strategy
