Role and Responsibilities:  - Manage general accounting functions; scope of management includes personnel, monthly accounting close activities and compliance with financial controls  - Oversee the completion of timely and accurate analysis of financial results, financial position and financial trends, including the preparation of a monthly segment financial reporting package  - Oversight of legal entity results and financial position and supporting the financial reporting team with appropriate documentation for legal entity filings and audits   - Review externally reported segment financial information, including quarterly and annual financial reports filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission  - Direct the activities of Centers of Excellence, cross-segment accounting teams  - Management of segment SOX testing and support of internal and external audits and reviews as well as ad hoc regulatory or compliance requirements   - Business partner to segment executive management and business unit management, including onboarding new clients and segment initiatives  - Partner with tax and treasury teams on relevant tax and cash management requirements  - Participate in the development of accounting policies and practices  - Analyze new and proposed accounting standards and preparing detailed interpretive accounting guidance for assessing the impact to the company  - Providing advice on ad-hoc technical accounting issues as they arise  - Review and enhance financial systems and technologies and develop process improvements, including implementation of best practices   - Provide regular updates to senior management  Key Result Areas:   - Given our international structure and dynamic environment, we need someone who can quickly and efficiently understand the application of U.S. GAAP and certain local accounting standards to existing operations as well as our current and future product offerings   - Ensure business unit teams and the accounting team have adequate instructions and understand process flows  - Determine key risks and implement mitigating solutions and process improvements  - Assess technology and ensure proper interfacing and flow among the shares services center, the segment accounting team and Corporate  - Develop reports to maximize the oversight of the business units and accounting function  Qualifications:   - Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 13 to 16 years - experience in accounting and controller functions with increasing responsibility in growing, multi-national organizations  - CPA or CA required with strong technical accounting knowledge
