Responsible for financial reporting and policies, accounting controls and practices, and the conduct of the company's relationship with lending institutions, auditors, insurers, investors and the financial community. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures and applicable government regulations. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values. Key responsibilities : - Develop and lead a high performing finance, compliance, tax, treasury, budgeting, and cash management organization by instilling and nurturing a culture of productivity; and ensure maintenance of proper records, controls and services. - Ensure that the financial information necessary for use by the operating management and directors is prepared to a consistently high standard. - Manage the short and long-term financial performance by developing accurate forecasts, monitoring variances to plans and developing action plans to address investment issues. - Direct and monitor all corporate financial affairs of the company including treasury, tax, controllership, planning, and audit and budgeting. - Provide proactive and creative financial advice, counsel and solutions for strategic decisions, and insight on opportunities for new projects and services, methods of operation, production process and ways to increase profitability at a national and international level to enable the company to anticipate the needs of its- global entities. - Participate as a key leader in the business planning process. - Establish criteria for a growth strategy and work with the executive management team in strategic planning and short and long-term goal setting for the organization to identify potential growth opportunities. - Contribute as an active team member on all capital and/or acquisition activities including the development of the underlying analysis, evaluation of the fit with the company strategy, due diligence and negotiations, and the integration of acquisitions with the existing business. - Conduct - buy- analyses and make recommendations based on economic justification. - Work with financially related external contacts, including accountants, bankers, systems suppliers and others to ensure a high level of service and business support. - Ensure that all statements and filings are prepared and distributed in a timely manner. - Ensure that the company is in continuous compliance with all statutory, regulatory, tax, and other external and internal operating and reporting requirements to which the company is subject. - Articulate the business strategy plan and potential of the company to the financial community in a compelling fashion. - Maintain integrity of accounting/reporting systems while implementing changes to impose efficiency of processing and improving availability of management information. - Responsible for information technology linked to the accounting and financial activities of the organization and ensure that the company is supported by an efficient and effective information technology strategy. - Utilize superior communications skills to motivate staff and develop effective working relationships with peers, executives and clients. - Personally coach, train and mentor direct reports and provide career development opportunities through training and quality management activities. - Conduct annual performance reviews for all staff within the assigned area. - Address all employee performance problems promptly and directly in accordance with company personnel policies and procedures. - Keep abreast of emerging technology changes and innovations through formal or informal study, reading business and professional publications, networking and participation in professional organizations. - Perform other duties as assigned.
