Job Title: DIRECTOR - FINANCE

Introduction:

Swasti (Wellbeing in Sanskrit) is a global public health organization committed to adding 100 million 'wellthy days' for Vulnerable Communities. Their mission is to upgrade the discourse from health to wellbeing and bring the missing pieces in wellbeing together (social, behavioral, management and technology) around the technical/medical aspects, with a strong focus on Health Systems Strengthening for equity and Community systems strengthening. Swasti is a registered notfor-profit organization and part of the Catalyst Group of institutions, having worked across 25 countries in South Asia, South East Asia and parts of East Africa. In 2002, Catalyst Management Services (CMS) set up a not-for-profit organisation, Catalyst Development Initiatives (CDI), to incubate ideas in development. Swasti was one such idea. Over the next two years, CDI provided institutional framework and guidance to grow Swasti until it could operate independently. Swasti was registered as a not-for-profit society on 15 May 2004. Their work has fuelled impact by promoting healthcare access thereby contributing to poverty alleviation, directly reaching over 400,000 people through their various initiatives. Swasti has supported governments, donors and development partners to design solutions in public health.

Reason for the hire:

Swasti is looking to hire a Director - Finance as their previous incumbent has transitioned out of the organization. This is a replacement hiring. The core role of the Director - Finance is to drive the non-profit organizations' financial planning, perform risk management by analyzing the organization's liabilities and investments and decide on investment strategies.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Evaluating, Design, Development of financial strategies

- Oversee and implement the Financial Management Strategy

- Prepare and present Financial Management Information Reports

- Establishing and developing relations with senior management and external partners and

stakeholders

- Leadership Skills

- Communication

Must Haves:

- Minimum 15 years of overall experience, with 8 years of working knowledge of the social impact sector

- Chatered Accountant or MBA in Finance

- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software

Experience of working on:

- Accounting

- Audit

- Budgetary control

- Financial management - Financial MIS, Financing, Cash, funds flow and investment

- System and controls

- Statutory

- Contract and Grant management

- Group level transaction

- Staff and load management

- Board, Treasurer support and coordination
