Director - Equity Market Operations - Global Service Centre

The core purpose of this role is to lead the entire Equities Operations world in the Global Service Centre. This role encompasses Prime Services, Clearing and Asset Services operations team which will end up circa 180 FTEs by the end of 2017

Role Purpose (overall high level summary of the role)

Further role dimensions include:

- Maintain and develop key stakeholder relationships with the broader Markets Operations leadership population

- Take the lead role in driving initiatives to deliver strategic development of the Equities business, technology changes and operating model across KL, Manila and Bangalore GSCs

- Continuously lead in pursuit of minimizing operational losses/ inherent risks to the process through robust control and improved process efficiencies across both GSC sites

- Collaboratively work with Equity global function heads to implement strategic deliverables, maintaining active partnership and ensure cost benefits are realized without compromising service delivery

- Develop new ideas and devise plans through KL, Manila-Bangalore synergy to bring added value to the global operations function

- Responsible and accountable for overseeing the RTB and CTB budget under the Equity banner in the GSC.

- Lead the agenda for Equity on steered activities in KL, Manila and Bangalore, ensuring effective and controlled management of inbound migrations and BCP / de-risking.

- Develop the Equity management and leadership capabilities bandwidth across KL, Manila and Bangalore, focusing on succession planning to ensure current and future operational demands are fulfilled. Working in partnership with HR to drive and maintain a high performance culture across GSC.

- Maintain active involvement in KL, Manila and Bangalore, centre-wide activities (salary planning, calibration, migration control, operations strategy, visitor management, general escalation etc.)

- Lead diverse teams across sites

- Knowledge of Global Markets and associated processes

- Knowledge of balance sheet business and regulatory requirements

- Accountable to implement the TOM and strategic change agenda

- Oversight of all migration activity into GSC

- Control management oversight across respective processes

- Responsibility for effective implementation of process and control initiatives

- Principal relationship manager for GSC sites

- Control and accountability of GSC budget including savings

Ensure the product areas understand and value the service they receive from GSC operations

- Ideally 15 years plus within an Investment Banking Operations environment, exposure to derivatives and securities products, Degree educated.

- Strong leadership skills evidenced by achievement of objectives together with a track record of development of individuals

- Proven experience of successfully managing and developing a team as well as of building and maintaining strong relations with the Business Units
