Profile and JD of Director Engineering

Must be thorough in design and technology of Locks Products:

If has mechanical background :

Thorough knowledge of design and manufacturing of Steering Column Locks, Other peripheral locks, Door Handles, Latches etc. with design calculations, knowledge of materials, Components, standards, manufacture ability etc, and good exposure on the Electronic Systems like PEPS, Immobilizers, Antenna application in Ignition Locks and Door Handles

Additional Areas preferred :

- Exposure to understanding of inertial forces, Kinematics and Multi body dynamics and Physics ( the science to do with gravitational forces, forces during acceleration/deceleration, vibration etc . this is essential for understanding the basic design intent and conceptualizing design solutions)

- Exposure to simulation techniques like linear and non linear analysis and interpretation of simulated data and redesigning the components to over come the limitation

- Converting design concept to component drawing deploying DOE/Tolerance analysis and parmetic design to develop robust designs

- Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and its effect on the subsystems there is not external/ internal resource to synthesize the knowledge and develop boundary conditions for design inputs

- Materials knowledge and processing of plastics, high strength low density materials and composites

If has Electronic Background :

Thorough knowledge of design and manufacturing of PEPS, Immobilizer, Keyless Door Handles, Electric Steering column locks etc. with design calculations, knowledge of components and materials, standards, manufacture ability etc and good exposure on Mechanical Products like Steering column locks, other peripheral locks, door handles, latches etc.

Additional Areas preferred :

- Good understanding of circuit design, software and seamless integration of hard and soft ware, In addition further integrating mechanical and electrical system through sensors and actuators make the current vehicle subsystems

- Exposure to RF circuits, advanced digital logic and circuit. Protocol power supply etc

- Exposure to understanding of microwave subsystem design and packaging. Testing Test equipment's. Inloop testing soft and hardware

- Excellent networking in Indian OEM.

- Should have business sense to use Technology edge in commercial success.

- Must be resourceful and should have strong networking inside to get any kind of support / information, which will be required from time to time.

- Must have good exposure to the customers should be able to lead Technical Reviews and Technology presentations to the customers

- Must be able to establish good systems / improve existing systems of design and development to meet customer requirements of Development quality first time right and development as per customer requirement. This includes bringing design standards, manuals etc from and also to create such standards, manuals and check sheets

- Must keep track of Technology trends and bring in the new Technologies in the Company. Prepare the organization well in advance to be ready to offer the new Technology to the customers

- Establish a process of competition mapping from Technology point of view and prepare action plan to counter the Competition strategy

- Must contribute largely in making customer strategy wrt Competition

- Lead the Engineering team to deliver optimum performance

- Guide and train the Engineers in designing of High end technology products

- Must be flexible and adaptable to Indian customers needs for development in very short time

- Must ensure meeting all customer requirements timely and qualitative development

- Create a culture of innovation in the Engineering department

- Good in Resource mapping & Optimum utilization of Resources.

- Knowledge on Net working with Academia to pull in specific domain knowledge where professionals are not easily available
