Director - Engineering - IT

Title: Director - Engineering for a SAAS based Startup offering Health Benefits

Reporting to: CTO and co-founder

Remote Working

Size of the team: 40+

Responsibilities:

1. Manage a (remote) team of engineering managers and developers.

2. Hire and grow a high performing engineering team

3. Grow the team with personal 1:1 coaching and career development progression

4. Lead and maintain highly available secure, scalable & performant web/mobile applications.

5. Implement and enforce the engineering best practices such as code reviews, continuous delivery, Test-driven development, Secure coding principles

6. Understand the business strategy, work with the CTO/leadership team to define/build a long term technology strategy and roadmap.

7. Working closely with product managers/head of product to deliver the product roadmap.

8. Own the entire product development lifecycle, make decisions about improving the status quo

9. Define OKRs/metrics for the team, measure and drive the team towards operational excellence & kaizen
