Director - Direct Taxation
Purpose:
The purpose of the profile is to ensure quality service through Senior leadership role in Direct Tax Advisory & Litigation practice covering Direct Taxation, Corporate tax, and international tax for the clients.
Experience:
10 to 12 years Post Qualification Experience in Direct Taxation Profile
Education & Qualification:
1. Chartered Accountant with minimum 10 years of Direct Taxation experience.
2. Experience in direct tax litigation support, representation before CIT(A), Assisting Counsel for matters before Tribunal/ High Court, Supreme Court representation before authorities, international tax planning and transaction structuring, corporate tax, foreign investment consulting, Exchange control and Employee taxation matters.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead multiple projects through team to deliver within tight timeframe and deadline:
- Advising clients on complex tax matters.
- Lead tax engagements. Effectively manage team on tax filing, computations, compliances, submissions, assessment, and appeal hearings before the CIT(A), Tribunals, High Court, Supreme Court.
- Steer Tax risk management and assurance processes and ensure strict adherence to SOPs.
- Overseeing the resource chargeability.
2. Managing Client and deliverables through quality results:
- Lead fee negotiations and discussions on scope for business across clientele.
- Perform the required Business Intelligence and ensure being abreast on Industry Best Practices in Direct Tax.
- Build the firm's market visibility and client experience by creating & maintaining strong independent relationships with clients.
- Build & nurture an effective working relationship with Tax authorities, business & functional heads and ensure close involvement of the local & international tax teams and external service providers.
3. Team Management:
- Train the immediate line of managers in propagating a culture of Identifying business potential, cross - selling other products of the firm besides Direct Tax, though strong internal and external networking.
- Act as a custodian of Quality and Delivery and as a Team mentor, ensure compliance of all aspects of direct taxation.
- Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff on projects and assess performance for tax engagement and year-end provisions.
- Collaboration with internal teams to advise within local and global jurisdictions.
