Job Description

A Director of Technology should be able to provide leadership in the following key areas:

Technology Leadership

- Fine tunes the architecture to account for time pressure, team’s expertise and project requirements to ensure on-time delivery.

- Active on-going involvement in Design and Code reviews to ensure best practices are being followed and code quality is maintained at the highest level.

- Solves problems as they are presented - even when deadlines, prototypes, etc change. Provides Development accountability for technology solutions as appropriate.

- Keeps on top of issues across projects and applications for the corresponding business line and proactively works to minimize them.

- Works with Development Managers across other business lines to identify areas of synergy and building the best in class solutions.

- Promotes technical know-how in the broader team by conducting technical training and encourages other members of the team to do the same.

- Identify and implement key processes to better manage the delivery and enhance risk management.

People Management & Leadership

- Comfortable leading a team of 10-20 people, motivating the team and ensuring that they are best positioned to succeed.

- Establishes goals and objectives with staff. Provides on-going performance feedback and mentoring. Ensures that career path of the team members are well defined and they know how to achieve them.

- Enforces company policies and procedures as a member of management for all employees.

- Manages and directs work of the technology team, ensuring assignments meet deadlines, department and company standards

- Directs the team's personnel administration activities including interviewing, hiring, training, job assignment, performance evaluation and compensation review

- Reaches out to all teams within the company including Product Manager, Business Analysts, Project Managers, QA, Infra and Release management and builds strong relationship.
