Director - Defence / Defense Sales in India

My Client a Global player in Defence is on the hunt for a Director – Defence / Defence Sales to set up operations in India to expand their customer base to cover China, India, MENA, E. Africa, South East Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America.

The Role:

- The ideal candidate must have vast experience in developing, deploying and managing cross cultural teams across the globe with operating expertise in large MNCs with complex business scenarios / processes, matrix structures and globally dispersed teams.

- The Director of Defence / Defense Sales must be comfortable with business models which stress commercial acumen, numbers primacy, operating effectiveness and business excellence. The individual should have a high level of relationship management with clients, global peers, JV partners and local statutory environment along with integration experience in M&A scenarios and management of change.

Responsibilities:

- Create, maintain and enhance client relationships through regular contact and meetings to understand and prioritise future opportunities. Develop strategic relationships to enable formation of alliances with relevant organisation to enhance overall attractiveness of Defence / Defense products.

- Establish clear, achievable and challenging objectives. Monitor performance regularly to ensure highest chances of successes. Accessibility to likely customers: Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Homeland

- Networking Ability to be able to bring with him established contacts as a Value Add. Assemble and Disseminate Market Intelligence. Travel to customers and participate in and / or deliver presentations to clients as needed. Host client delegations as part of the client pre-award due diligence process.

Essential Skills:

- Must have a minimum of 20 years experience in Defence / Defense Sales.

- Familiarity with Defence Procurement Procedure and Defence Procurement Manual.

- Managed New Business with Strategy, Business Development, Sales, Operations and P&L.

- Expertise in Defence Procurement Offsets and Homeland Security.

- Significant Experience in L1 Bidding, Government and Defence Procurement.

- Extensive Networks in Central (MHA, Defence, Para-Military & PSUs) and State Governments.

- Bidding Experience for Multi-Million Dollar Projects
