Job Summary: The Director of Credit for the Asia Market, specializing in Large Corporate Loans, will play a pivotal role in assessing credit risks associated with lending to large corporate clients in the Asia region. This role demands a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of credit analysis, risk management, and regulatory compliance within the financial services industry. The successful candidate will lead a team of credit analysts, collaborating closely with other departments to ensure prudent lending practices and portfolio health.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement credit risk policies and procedures specific to large corporate lending in the Asia market.

- Lead a team of credit analysts responsible for conducting thorough credit assessments, including financial statement analysis, industry research, and risk evaluations.

- Evaluate credit proposals for large corporate loans, ensuring adherence to established risk parameters, credit policies, and regulatory requirements.

- Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Underwriters, and other stakeholders to structure credit facilities that meet the needs of clients while managing risk exposure.

- Monitor the credit portfolio, identifying emerging risks, and implementing strategies to mitigate potential losses.

- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

- Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices related to large corporate lending in the Asia region.

- Represent the credit function in meetings with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders, articulating risk assessment methodologies and portfolio performance.

- Partner with Credit Risk Management to develop stress testing scenarios and conduct regular portfolio reviews.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline credit processes, enhance efficiency, and optimize risk-adjusted returns.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, CFA, etc.) preferred.

- Minimum of 14 years of experience in credit analysis, with a focus on large corporate lending in the Asia market.

- Proven track record of leading high-performing teams and driving results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

- Deep understanding of financial statement analysis, credit risk metrics, and industry-specific risk factors.

- Familiarity with regulatory requirements governing large corporate lending in Asia, including Basel III guidelines.

- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed credit decisions.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

- Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to risk management and problem-solving.

- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment while also demonstrating autonomy and initiative.

- Fluency in [specific languages relevant to the Asia market] is highly desirable.
