Director - Capital Markets Syndication - NBFC

COMPANY:

The company is an NBFC with an objective to provide efficient and reliable access to debt capital for the institutions that impact financially excluded households and enterprises.

It is engaged in providing diversified financing options, particularly from the debt capital markets to institutions (Originators) that provide microfinance, SME finance, affordable housing finance, vehicle finance, agricultural finance etc.

JOB OBJECTIVE:

- The position is related to building a deep debt capital markets platform for the company's clients through syndication, structured finance and other debt products.

- The position will play a key role in building superior relationships with investors, in order to market and place transactions structured by the company for its clients.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The position will be primarily responsible for the following:

Develop a strong investor franchise for the company's business:

- Create and maintain a database of wide range of investors

- Arrange for meetings with potential investors and make presentations/pitches for asset classes

- Conduct regular follow-up calls and meetings with current and potential investors for all the company's products - syndication, securitisation, bonds, other guaranteed/ structured products as well as the Fund management business

- Develop and maintain relationships with investors at senior levels and build a strong investor franchise for the company

Market and place the company's transactions with debt capital market investors

- Carry and deliver sales targets for volumes placed, fee generated and other quantitative metrics as per KRAs

- Understand investor requirements/market feedback and communicate to the Origination/structuring team towards new structures

- Negotiate terms, pricing, documentation and manage end to end deal closure

- Indirectly manage a team of analysts and provide guidance on deal execution and closure as well as post transaction support to investors

Markets and Credit

- Strong understanding of regulatory framework in which the company operates including regulations applicable for product offerings of the company, as well as legal aspects of a transaction

- Deep understanding of capital markets and structured finance including macros and working knowledge of rates, FX and derivative products

- Stay current and have complete understanding of the credit of the underlying issuers / clients of the company who are being represented in Capital Markets.

Inputs to structuring and new asset classes

- Develop a sound understanding of the sectors and entities that the firm represents, through field visits, data analysis and interactions with internal teams

- Develop a sound understanding of the products that the company has developed, including regulations, tax, excel modelling and documentation

- Be at the forefront of gauging investor appetite for new asset classes/products and provide regular feedback to Structuring & Origination teams for improvements/ changes in structures based on investor feedback

- Play an active role in designing new products based on inputs from investors, regulatory and other developments

- Provide leads to Origination for new clients

Networking within the industry

- Actively participate and represent the company at conferences and seminars

- Create visibility for the company / brand within capital markets, both domestic as well as international

SPECIFICATIONS: QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & COMPETENCIES:

- This position will be based in Mumbai and will have significant travel within India. We are seeking candidates who have:

- 10-12 years experience in investment banking and/or corporate finance

- Strong sales experience and networking skills

- Understanding of structured products

- Interest in financial inclusion and the opportunities that this space represents

- Educational qualification: MBA or CA
