Director - Business Development (Discovery R&D-Preclinical) - Boston / Cambridge
Requirements:
- PhD degree in Chemistry is required; plus, MBA degree preferred, but not required.
- At least 5-7 years of field sales or business development experience in the life sciences industry.
- Customer dedication to relentlessly seek and distill solutions from complexity.
- Good knowledge of the clinical drug development process.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Mindful listener and communicator (written and oral).
Experience:- 5-7 years of experience in sales and marketing, business development for drug discovery R&D business in the USA (minimum 5 years preferred).
- Adequate experience to interact and influence the senior level decision makers in the target companies.
- Managed and brought in multi-million-dollar annual business in the past.
KRA :This position will be primarily responsible for generating revenues and sales for drug discovery R&D business in the target markets / segments in the USA. The position will be our front face to customer and will be expected to build a strong network of global clients in the above domain through close interaction with senior level contacts in the relevant industries and delivery of differentiated customer services.
- Develop marketing / business development plan for drug discovery R&D business in the target market segments and communicating the value proposition of the company.
- Generate sales and develop long term relationships with clients, including establishment of strategic alliances and partnerships.
- Represent the company on industrial networking platforms, events, exhibitions and seminars to maximize global business exposure of the company.
- Cultivate and maintain contacts with key persons at various levels in the customer's organization.
- Handle customer communications and utilize problem solving skills and tools to resolve complex problems on a regular basis.
- Visit with customers regularly to understand the customer needs and work with the delivery team to prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals to the customers.
- Ensure strict compliance of approval procedures implemented by management from time to time and maintain highest standard of moral and professional ethics.
