Director - APAC Procurement and Direct Spend Job title : Director - APAC Procurement and Direct Spend Location : Vadodara Reporting to : Head of Purchasing Experience : 15+ Purpose of Job : - Responsible for global direct spend and the APAC purchasing team. - Responsible to apply both sourcing knowledge and procurement processes such as Savings generation, Cash flow, Reliability, Supplier "Risk and Sustainability", innovation, best cost understanding, OTIF performance, Talent management and compliance. - Contributes to strategic development of company Purchasing and leading the Direct Procurement organization (mid- and long-term perspective, capability building, maturity level, etc.). Responsibilities : - Functional guidance, compliance and collaboration across senior management - Ensures training and compliance in procurement team - Conducts regular dialogues with internal customers / ensures satisfaction - Ensures consequent management compliance topics - Active participation in Procurement Leadership team meetings - Lead global direct/indirect spend for BU - Supervises achievement of KPIs with the key stakeholders - Ensures market knowledge and capacity building - Ensures communication of company targets and translating to department/function targets - Drives maturity development at supplier collaboration and performance management - Ensures alignment with business objectives & performance review with businesses - Initiator for value creation beyond savings (digitalization, sustainability, risk management, etc.) - Responsible for global sourcing and regional support - Ensures Supply chain relationship management - Ensures efficient services and value creation across regions - Implements effective supplier management and collaboration - Manage Budget of the group and relationships to other procurement colleagues - Performance and process support across the full group - Builds and maintains strong network to procurement community to ensure best practices - Proposes and supports digital enablement and projects - Leadership of procurement function incl. Talent management - Ensures capability building of assigned team - Attracts and retains / develops procurement talents - Ensures cost efficient service levels - Inspires and drives a high performance team Education : Ideally commercial and technical background (ability to understand key values chains, potentially an advanced degree, e.g. MBA or similar). Business experience : - Significant senior management experience (e.g. multi-year business leadership ; Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing) and procurement experience - Track record of value creation, e.g. for competitive deals/negotiations, etc - People management in international environment
