Director - Advocacy - Public Health Programs - NGO

We have been retained by a pre-eminent Not for Profit organization which has been in India for more than three decades and doing pioneering work in underprivileged & rural areas towards the empowerment of women and girls from poor and marginalized communities. The organization is led by a very experienced senior team, has demonstrated high impact and change (across indicators) in the lives of disadvantaged, and has a committed team of 500 plus employees and a very well-meaning and noteworthy board of directors.

The client is looking for a senior resource to come in the capacity of Director-Advocacy with strong exposure to Public Health programs. The incumbent will be responsible for establishing, strengthening and supporting strong relationship with Central Govt (ministries, departments and other key institutions) to share and advocate for effective implementation and replications of the Program. The incumbent will be reporting to the Chief of Party.

We are looking for an outstanding professional with proven experience in the development sector and dealing with the government.

MUST HAVES

- Post Graduate degree in Public Health or an equivalent from a reputed institution, Medical Doctor, or past government employment preferred

- 12-18 years of work experience in the development sector and proven experience of dealing with government.

- Demonstrated experience of leading design and execution of public health advocacy programs

- A good understanding of how state and central government function and experience of influencing senior government professionals on an issue/cause with tangible outcomes
