Context/Scope: Global Diageo Business Services (GDBS) is passionate about creating value for Diageo by driving exceptional business performance through the design and delivery of analytical solutions, integrated processes, systems and data, and managing total costs through excellence in service delivery.   The role of the Global Data Services and Governance team (GDS&G) is to support Data to become a strategic asset in our business by:  - ensuring that our data is high performing, meaningful, relevant and in good quality  - designing/governing broad based complete and accurate data sets to drive insights  - creating a Data driven organisation by FY19: increase awareness of the quality of data within Diageo  - building a highly capable and engaged team  This is achieved through a thorough knowledge and understanding of the data architecture & design; establishing and governing standards for data maintenance and measurement of data quality to identify process and performance improvements, while meeting the regulatory requirements with regards to data.   The role of the Data Development Analyst is to develop automated data quality checks for Data Quality and to deliver other data quality solutions using a variety of technologies  Dimensions:   a. Financial  The role will not have direct budget responsibility but will need to be financially aware of their responsibilities and remain budget conscious and compliant, seeking simplifications and opportunities to increase capacity.   b. Market/Role Complexity   Global Diageo's data environment spans all geographies and functions including touch points with business partners and Joint Ventures. This role has Global responsibility spanning a number of Global Applications, within the context of allocated data domains of consumer, customer, vendor, product, supply, finance and people.  The role will interface with the GDS&G team and as required with governance directors, process owners, business stakeholders and service delivery teams (both internal and external). These relationships will encompass people based in a variety of geographies, multiple cultures, languages and time zones.   c. Leadership Responsibilities   - Engagement across all processes, markets and vendors. External stakeholder engagement as appropriate.  - The role requires profound data management skills and deep technical skills in data & information management, maintenance principles and capabilities.  - Ability to work collaboratively on designing and refining business rules. The role also requires business analysis and process expertise  - The ability to lead and communicate/ influence effectively across many different cultures including external company cultures and time zones  - Identify continuous improvement initiatives and provide support and input to improvement projects  - Planning and prioritising the workload by assessing the relative value of the initiatives and determining the high-return data quality rules   Purpose of Role: The purpose of this role is support the delivery and maintenance of high quality data for the data domain teams, and to work with data change projects to ensure high quality data is assured during change  Top Accountabilities   - Work closely with the GDS&G team on the delivery of Data Quality (DQ) rules  - Interpret and revise functional specification and create technical specification documents in line with testing/development of the code  - Manage the configuration of existing toolset for both the data quality and KPI system  - Develop analytical capability (enhancing both existing tools and investigating new methods and tools)  - Work closely with projects to complete the standard DQ deliverables.   - Support the expansion of the domain DQ Ruleset as new processes and data elements are introduced  - Maintenance of the built DQ environment using the formal change process  Qualifications and Experience Required: Degree level education, preferably with minimum of 7 years Data Management/related discipline experience, either within Diageo or another consumer goods company (or equivalent in consultancy).  - Knowledge of graphical development tools for Data Quality Rules and/or Extract/Transform/Load (ETL)   - Understanding of Business definition of data and data objects within the context of both logical and physical data models  - Business design of KPIs and reporting mechanisms  - Knowledge of SAP Master Data structures and experience of information reconciliation within the SAP ECC environment (Domain)  - Capability to analyse and profile data, derive and infer business rules from databases and process related datasets   - Demonstrated ability to convert business rule definitions into technical specifications, with the emphasis on understanding and presenting data in a business context  Barriers to Success in Role Must be willing to engage with business counterparts to gain detail on business rules  Must have good communication skills and good business English  Must be willing to continuously grow self in knowledge of business, business analysis methods and technical tools
