Job Description : - To ensure that the business has a clear and consistent strategy for the deployment and management of manpower, ensure legal compliance and provide Industrial Relations Support and expertise across the Supply Chain business. - Guide on the management of local labour / union issues for smooth operations of business. - Provide support to &amp; guide business heads to handle disciplinary issues. - Provide advice / training in grievance handling and disciplinary procedures to line managers. - Work closely with the Procurement Team on the criteria for Selection of Manpower Supply agencies with a focus on their ability to deliver in terms of quality of people, legal compliance, Industrial relations and effective management of socio political local issues. - Ensure governance for contract labour management and manage the relationship with vendors to achieve the business objectives. - Improve prevention of workplace injuries and illnesses with the message commitment - Safety is Everyone's Responsibility- - Perform your work in a safe manner without harming other persons or causing damage to property / equipment - Reduce the impact of occupational injury, illness and disease - Improve DHL's capability to systematically manage workplace safety matters - Enhance the Quality of Workplace Safety information available to decision-makers at all levels - Develop the capacity of leaders and staff to identify and manage hazards effectively - Improve our elimination of hazards at design planning stages - Strengthen the capacity of DHL to influence the Workplace Safety Performance of visitors and contractors - Comply with all DSC Safety Rules, as amended - Support all relevant inspection / audit procedures and processes to ensure safety activities, procedures and standards are identified and addressed, as appropriate - Reports all hazards and / or incidents to their manager and into the LOGIC's system as part of our reporting protocols. - Applies new skills and abilities learned from training courses / briefing sessions as appropriate. The incumbent must lead and engage our employees towards Behaviour Based Safety (BBS) standards via, inductions, training, communication forums, risk assessments, preventative maintenance regimes, safe systems of work, safety campaigns and conversations, excellent facilities / equipment. The incumbent must also actively embrace and implement safety tools/activities, such as but not limited to : - Promoting safe behaviours, Incident / Hazard reporting, Inspection regimes, Early intervention, Warm up stretching by all staff, Team safety meetings, Training matrix, Safety engagement plan, Policies / Procedures, Safe work method statements and having a technology platform to guide and protect our workers in all work tasks and processes.
