DGM - Strategy - Telecom

Role:

This position is responsible for supporting the strategy development for the company. This involves identification of opportunities and threats covering existing businesses, new businesses and structural costs.

The scale of investments has ranged from USD 500 mn - 3 bn in the past.

An important component of the strategic plan typically involves new technologies to be enabled via new spectrum. The position is required to assess alternatives with respect to technologies and spectrum bands and create the right models for developing business cases for the same. The position also drives the business case development from a project management perspective.

An emerging area of importance is identifying growth areas which need to be driven inorganically via M&A. The position is responsible for building a case for inorganic actions and identifying and evaluating targets at a high level.

The position is responsible for supporting the Strategy Board - developing material that aids the discussion and debate leading to superior strategy formulation.

Key accountabilities:

- Own business case development for strategy projects

- Complete market benchmarking projects end-to-end

- Project management for strategy projects

- Support strategy development, including regulatory strategy and approach to M&A opportunities

Core competencies:

- Strong analytical skills

- Ability and willingness to learn across a broad range of areas; investigate priority areas in great depth

- Ability to provide leadership to cross functional teams and perform project management

- Knowledge of telecom preferred

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

- MBA from a reputed business school

- 8 to 12 years of experience - mix of consulting, corporate strategy, and/or telecom equity research
