DGM - Project Development - Chemical Firm

Our client is a publicly listed, multiproduct Indian conglomerate with an annual turnover of over 4200cr with a multi-product portfolio spanning industrial chemicals, bulk and specialty fertilizers, farming diagnostics and solutions, technical ammonium nitrate, mining services and consulting and value added real estate. They currently have 4 manufacturing facilities and are establishing 4 other green field projects across India eyeing 2x turnover globally. They are looking for a DGM-Project Development based out of Mumbai.

Reporting into the Head Project Development, you will be responsible for:

- Identification/Project feasibility check of New Projects opportunities/ideation received from Business Sector for continuous expansion in business volume/profitability

- Assisting in identification of new business opportunities through discussion with Technology Suppliers, Internet, Technical magazine/Seminars and identifying various manufacturing routes/technologies while evaluating and checking the feasibility

- Organizing and conducting meetings with potential technology licensors as well as technology suppliers/vendors and others for obtaining technical proposals

- Developing ISBL/OSBL project model (Raw material and Utilities consumptions) based on above technical proposal

- Coordinating for preliminary project cost estimate and operating cost, reviewing of Technical/Commercial viability of the Project and developing draft concepts for further detailed study

- Providing support in the identification of suitable location for the Project, ensuring the availability of water/power/fuel, identifying the source and logistic of raw material as well as finished product movement;

- Meeting with potential suppliers/port trust, overseeing the suitability of site in terms of other infrastructure like connectivity through rail, road and port;

- Preparing list of approvals required for the Projects, conducting meetings with various statutory authorities and understand the requirements for setting up the plant.

Ideally you are a Chemical Engineer with 10 - 15 years of experience years in Strategic Business / Project Development / Projects functions of medium to large scale Chemical/Petrochemical/Fertilizer manufacturing or consultancy organizations. You should be well versed with various Fertilizers, chemicals, petrochemical and oil & gas industries and have sound knowledge of the concerned government agencies. You should have experience of interacting with senior management and should have strong oral and written communication. You should have excellent stakeholder management skills and interpersonal skills. You should have strong analytic abilities and should be comfortable to work in a cross-functional environment.
