Overall purpose of job :
Lead and coordinates organization-wide efforts to ensure that Continuous Improvement programs and culture is developed and managed using a data driven focus that sets priorities for improvements aligned to ongoing strategic imperatives. Develops and communicates the strategic vision, scope and mission of the Continuous Improvement. Also, assures that organization-wide CI initiatives are focused and aligned on improving operational efficiencies and effectiveness. Participates in organizational strategic planning and provides leadership for CI policy development.
Tasks and Responsibilities:The incumbent shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Provides leadership and oversight of the CI program including strategy development; tactical planning and execution as well as on going work stream development and management.
- Develops Master Plan each fiscal year to continue evolution and sustainment of the program.
- Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills through leveraging FI Pillar root cause problem solving methodologies and continuous improvement processes and systems.
- Show thorough understanding of the interactions between machine, materials, methods, environment and people to provide robust operating systems.
- Responsible for ongoing identification of technical and leadership resource capability gaps and bringing it management notice.
- Development and implementation of early detection and preventative processes and systems designed to eliminate and prevent all losses.
- Collaborates with cross-functional process stakeholders including Quality, plant operations, procurement, suppliers to develop and maintain materials and process standards.
- Development and execution of CI process training and capability development program with technical resources and leadership.
- Develop, lead and monitor CI programs such as 5S and LSW by direct continuous involvement.
- Identify and develop cost saving projects to improve manufacturing efficiency and product line contribution margins.
- Analyzes plant resource utilization and recommend improvement initiatives.
- Identify key waste initiatives, including seeking out and eliminating waste in all plant functions.
- Develop charters, project savings, and lead continuous improvement teams.
- Assist production employees and teams in improving operational excellence.
- Track production performance. Prepare reports and charts for improvement opportunity identification and problem solving on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis.
- Analyse operational data and work with established teams to develop action plans for improvement.
- Leads Kaizen events when opportunities are uncovered to improve existing processes and strives to instill positive sustainability.
- Supports, via budget and human resource allocation, food safety, quality and safety program development, maintenance and improvements.
- Report food safety, quality and safety issues to management.
- Develop and lead program for job descriptions and JSA with team member training. Ensure all employees are doing the job right and the same.
- Responsible for achieving financial targets under CI initiatives

- Possesses a general understanding of contract administration, business principals and business law.
- Possesses a broad understanding of each engineering discipline.

- Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office Software, Lotus Notes, and other discipline specific software applications.
- Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with management, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.

Education, qualifications, special training, experience and skills
- B. Tech or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 12 years industrial related Working experience with - Continuous Improvement management systems-, Knowledge of SAP based ERP preferable in an oil industry.
- 4 years minimum direct work experience in an upper-level management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
- Demonstrable experience in process improvement and lean manufacturing practices.
- Knowledge of packaging/processing technology.
- Knowledge / expertise in lean manufacturing principles (Kaizen, work balancing, 5S, TPM, Six Sigma, etc.)
