Securities Technology covers the post-execution process for Cash Equities and Fixed Income products across highly efficient markets with very efficient clearing and settlement facilities. We support the CIB business by providing highly stable applications that meet the cost and capacity targets set by our clients.

Role overview

The CIB Post Trade - Securities Technology team is embarking on a large scale vendor repatriation exercise alongside plans to transform its securities processing landscape and create a simplified architecture stack for the future alongside more efficient front-to-back business processes. This role will entail building out the right technical capability and fit for our teams and setting out the technical standards be driving e team requires a Senior Software Development Engineer whose focus will be on the build out of the local team and development of the platform.

Key responsibilities:

- A - hands-on- technical leader and expert practitioner in software development

- Accountable for the successful technical delivery of key solutions

- Ensure the teams developers meet prescribed quality gates and follow SDLC standards

You will have:

- Strong core Java (EE) skills

- Proven ability to design effective enterprise grade solutions with accurate estimates

- Hands on experience developing scalable systems in high throughput environments

- Ability to understand, evaluate, and objectively select technologies to solve business problems without bias to a particular type of product/technology

- Experience with modern SDLC techniques (e.g. TDD, CI, fully automated testing, pervasive use of code review)

- Hands on experience with messaging middleware (e.g. Solace, JMS)

- Experience with database data retrieval and persistence (Oracle preferred) and understand performance improvement techniques

- An understanding of service based architectures

- Awareness of the importance of designing secure code

- 10+ years of experience developing in a financial services environment

- The ability to innovate and deliver high quality code when under pressure

- Linux/Solaris scripting

- Meticulous attention to detail

- Proven delivery track record

- Experience of successfully redeveloping/refactoring legacy systems (optional)

- Experience of mentoring junior developers (optional)
