Role Description - Summary : 

- Asset & Liability Management (- ALM- ) is at the core of Deutsche Bank in NYC. We are an integral part of the measurement and management of liquidity and interest rate risks of our banking book activities.


- We are working with the business lines to optimize their business strategy within interest rate, liquidity, capital and leverage frameworks of DB and to grow and stabilize Interest Income. ALM mandate includes the steering of the optimal banking book funding mix and overall balance sheet within risk appetite. 


- We have a deep understanding of the business lines' products, clients and business plans. We cover a wide range of activities and work very closely with the other Treasury functions as well as colleagues in areas such as Finance, Risk, Regulatory and Legal.

Responsibilities / Tasks : 

The candidate taking this role will be covering the following important activities:

- Work closely with business partners to drive balance sheet optimization strategies

- Manage innovative solutions in close cooperation with all relevant functions

- Assess impact of new business activities on local resources

- Responsible for modeling of IRRBB and maturity transformation activities as well as earnings projections and sensitivity analysis

- Develop earnings projections and analysis for capital planning (CCAR) and stress testing purposes

- Serve as subject matter expert and key resource for businesses on Treasury concepts and decisions

- Work closely with other Treasury functions in NYC as well as Europe to ensure local and global consistency

- Support ALM strategy through ad-hoc analysis

Experience / Exposure

- Strong analytical and quantitative skills

- Strong knowledge of Banking book products, e.g. loans and deposits, preferred

- Work with stakeholders to provide value added services to business

- Understand Business and Treasury stakeholder needs/ priorities and applicable mandate

- Ability to communicate and present clearly and concisely in written and oral form with people of different backgrounds and hierarchical levels

- Highly motivated and self-sufficient individual with ability to be directed with high precision and reliability

- Strategic thinker with the ability to understand broad business issues and their wide-ranging implications, and to make sound business recommendations

- Challenge, resolve, and communicate issues to relevant stakeholders

Education/ Qualifications

- University graduate or equivalent degree in finance, economics, mathematics or engineering is a must. Masters qualifications or above would be considered an advantage.
