- Develop seasonal inspirations, concepts and colors, based upon international fashion trends and adapt to market demographic and brand /positioning
- Interpret seasonal fashion directions, opportunities and assort merchandise/range to stay ahead of competition
- Develop range architecture as per pricing/margin strategy based on feedback from buying, product performance and market
- Range presentation to retail and buying team with final range for the season with design direction, product strategy and key product highlights

Trend Forecasting and Research
- Develop seasonal inspirations, concepts and colors, based upon international fashion trends and adapt to market demographic and brand /positioning
- Interpret seasonal fashion directions, opportunities and assort merchandise/range to stay ahead of competition
- Understand /define brand and customer profiling to address the relevant market opportunities
- Have a good knowledge of brands in the domestic and international market, their profile and positioning
- Product Design, Range Planning and Development
- Develop range architecture as per pricing/margin strategy based on feedback from buying, product performance and market
- Innovate on product (applicable only for FW)
- Have strategic discussions with Concept head for design and range approval
- Liaise with product development/fit technicians for relevant inputs (vendors/mills) to innovate on fits, fabric, style, print techniques, surface enhancements/textures, trims etc. (applicable only for APM/APC)
- Conceptualize, design and develop the range in line with brand ethos/positioning and learnings from the previous seasons within acceptable timelines
- Ensure synergy on design and fashion trends through design development, sampling and adaptation of tech packs
- Range presentation, selection and alignment with buying to initiate developments
- Liaise with product development for sampling, tech pack handover and prototyping
- Range presentation to retail and buying team with final range for the season with design direction, product strategy and key product highlights
- Create design ranges as per buying calendar
- Prepare mood boards for the forthcoming season
- Handover of range/production tech packs to sourcing with incorporation of changes and feedback on samples
- Reprogram within the season based on the feedback from the market (applicable only for APL)
Process adherence
- Ensure adherence to GTM (Go to market) calendar
- Define processes to ensure cohesiveness within intra and inter teams
- Manage PLM (product lifecycle management) uploads and ensure PLM integration
Product presentation/display
- Provide directions for brand photoshoots based on relevant product stories and key trends
- Provide inputs to marketing team for developing product communication and seasonal stories
- Provide inputs to the VM team of key products and trends along with range boards for planogramming and on floor visual displays
- Provide content for product training of front-end staff with key product highlights and attributes for the upcoming season
Vendor management (only for APL)
- Identify the right vendor for right product in collaboration with sourcing team
- Provide style sheets to vendors
- Follow up on development samples
- Ensure complete alignment to the tech sheet
- Provide final production approvals along with Buying team
People management
- Assign responsibilities and set expectations
- Give regular feedback to team
- Provide support and guide the team to deliver on the job
