We are hiring for Head of Design with one our fastest growing Internet/Startup client in Apparel and Fashion category based in Mumbai: Position: Head of Design Location - Mumbai Client: Internet/Startup Job Responsibilities: Roles and Responsibilities: - Directing & managing all design & creative aspects for portfolio of brands ( mens and kids) - Building clear and strong identity for the Brand, translating brand philosophy to definitive product range - Build long-term consumer focused, market driven and brand right creative design direction across product categories - Establish creative strategy, product innovation rhythm & timeline schedules for the Brand - Position brand to be the leading brand in the category - Define and build seasonal direction and stories for the brand with category designers - Work with buying team on merchandising assortment plans to align on design direction for the season - Keeping up to date with emerging fashion trends as well as general trends relating to fabrics, colors and shapes and be able to guide & direct the team - Manage seasonal timelines & ensure adherence to systems & processes - Ownership of Brand KPIs and work with Brand Head & Buying team to ensure that Brand meets financial targets - Team Management - Direct, manage and lead dedicated design team. Responsible for keeping the team motivated and engaged. - Engage with various internal and external audiences on Brand design concepts - Build strong working relationship with cross -functional teams - Contribute strategically to brand design business component - Be the true evangelist of Brand Qualifications and Experience: - Relevant experience in apparel designs with Fashion Design PG | Graduate background (NIFT/ PEARL) - Highly creative - The candidate should have a great sense of style that will be required to constantly come up with new ideas for fashions. - Strong Design Skills - Excellent conceptualisation & design skills. Ability to identify trends globally and ability to translate them for core categories. - Great Eye for Product - Expert eye for a perfect product: Fabrics, Fits, Construction, Fall & drape, colour etc - Strong Business Skills - A great fashion designer with excellent business acumen - Ability to understand budgets, Fashion trends, and sales concepts that are vital to getting designs produced and sold. - Communication & Articulation: Strong communication skill to be able to direct team to deliver the creative vision. Ability to effectively articulate design vision across key stakeholders across different cross functional partners. Bring teams teams together and drive them to one common brand agenda.
