1. Proactively plans and manages the product portfolio to accomplish maximization of the business ROI.
2. Supports the development and implementation of business plans and researches and recommends product strategies for 1-3 year time span.
3. Develops and recommends pricing guidelines / lists and tracks price, volume and mix variations monthly and analyses trends. Also tracks stock turns to analyze slow moving items.
4. Identifies and analyses (including financial models) market trends for the commercial business as they relate to product. Carries out market research where needed either in person, with the sales groups or working with service providers.
5. Develops selling tools and training elements associated with the product line in order to train sales staff. Ensures the brand is handled within corporate guidelines in all merchandising and promotional activities.
6. Is responsible for the product launch process including range, price positioning, promotional elements and internet updates. In particular that new products are launched on time within budget. All product-based collateral and non-product based collateral should be delivered as part of this process.
7. Works with National & Regional Managers and warehouse operations to develop sampling formats and supplies relevant to customer needs. Tracks and stays within the budget allocated for activities.
8. Is responsible for ensuring the website is current with product information, project wins and stories/profiles that enhance the use of the site. Tracks usage and makes adaptations necessary to drive traffic flow.
9. Coordinates, communicates and trains all relevant Sales Managers on product / product communications changes and developments.
10. Keeps abreast of and be the support for all technical aspects associated with the ranges within the area of responsibility. Support includes field sales and direct customer enquiry where needed. Develops a control system to handle claims and complaints in relation to consumers, customers and suppliers.
11. Acquires and maintains a comprehensive database of competitors and the market place.
