Hiring for a lading Automotive Giant - Manages the development and implementation of lobbying strategies, including the drafting of statements, letters, and coordination with industry partners and contact with national and state-level representatives and ministries. - Leads participation in several automotive industry groups and industry bodies - FICCI, CII, Assocham, SIAM, assists in lobbying efforts on a variety of industry-related issues. - Responds to inquiries directly from association members and executives. - Leads development and execution of executive speaking opportunities for external comms opportunities. - Develops and leads on the delivery of effective corporate and product communications plans and outputs for designated projects/activities in line with the overarching departmental Communications Strategy. - Assists in the development of agendas, edited materials, and helps conduct meetings and conference presences of relevant conferences or external meetings. - Government relationship building; regular meetings and advocacy - Industry bodies engagement and relationship management: SIAM, CII, FICCI, Assocham, Nasscom, etc. - Press conferences - Plant Visits - Press Releases - Executive media round tables or media interactions at conferences Desired Profile: - 8+ years of experience in a communications role, preferably for a major global automotive or auto components company, including either government relations or association experience. - Ideally, this should include experience working with, or knowledge of, external association bodies such as SIAM, ASSOCHAM, CII, FICCI. Additional experience in research, writing, or dealing with members or clients. What is most important is to have the drive and interest to learn as much as you can and apply new knowledge and skills in this position. - Success in building good relations with key government or industry association players, media and securing media coverage. - Extensive govt. relations experience with an emphasis on brand, corporate and product communications and a strong and acknowledged track record of results. - Experience with customer-focused brands, in other areas of the marketing mix e.g. above the line advertising, brand management and especially digital engagement a major plus. - Excellent written and verbal English communications skills; must be able to write under pressure. - Ability to synthesize complex information; understand the needs and interests of target audiences; define and articulate messages; generate effective and compelling content for a variety of vehicles (news releases, articles, Q&amp;A documents); create and edit copy; develop and deliver effective presentations. - Significant experience in formulating and managing communications strategies/plans within a complex organization.
