Our client is a global leader in Chemicals Industry. Our Client shares a rich history with India spanning more than a century. With our vast knowledge in the field of chemistry, we manufacture high-quality, innovative products that cater to a wide range of industries. BASF in India has 9 production sites, 2 R&D centers and more than 2,000 employees and is well positioned to meet the current and future needs of the ever-growing Indian market. They have aggressive growth plans for India which will be driven by an aggressive portfolio of services including transport management system, 3PL, etc. They are looking for Deputy Manager - Logistics Operations, based out of Mumbai office.

Description

The incumbent will report to the Head - Logistics Operations and be responsible for:

1. Manage transport operation (inbound, outbound) for bulk and packaged with different modes of transportation and warehouse infrastructure and dispatching operations including tank farm management and port storage solutions.

2. Establish performance measurement to monitor and improve performance on all dimensions (e.g. Service - timely and without error, documentation, tracking, proof of delivery and cost etc.)

3. Ensure customer complaints are analyzed; root causes and improvement actions identified and responded with speed.

4. Evaluate, monitor and improve the performance of 3rd party service providers, handle non-conformance service issues; participate and support 3rd party service provider selection; use regular audits and benchmarking techniques.

5. Engage with internal business partners for understanding business/customer need, design and offer warehousing solutions and conduct a periodic economic evaluation of warehouses and service providers, scout for new strategic locations and pro-actively co-ordinate to set up new warehouses.

6. To establish, review and monitor adherence to risk management and business recovery processes ensuring continuity of business at all times.

7. Ensure infrastructure and service providers (including their staff) meet required EHS and regulatory compliance standards at all times. Liaise with the EHS to handle emergencies.

Processes:

1. Establish and monitor adherence to standard operating procedures in all areas of operations. Continuously examine existing procedures or opportunities for streamlining activities to meet product distribution needs.

2. Optimize transportation and warehousing processes based on market surveys and business feedback to meet customer and company requirements

3. To continuously keep abreast of emerging new trends and technologies in the areas of distribution

Profile

An ideal candidate will come with at least 7 years' experience, including 4-6 years in execution of diverse logistics activities with an MBA in Operations/Supply Chain from Nitie or a top 10 B-School. The person must exhibit strong commercial and contractual awareness and excellent negotiation skills. Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills with staff, clients and vendors are essential, also experience with Sub-Contract with third-party logistics players. Should have handled import and export market logistics and have a good awareness of the India Market.
