Job Title : Dy. Head - Origination

Department : Investment Banking

Reporting to : Group Head - Investment Banking

Main Role (Overall accountability) :

- Join bank muscat, the largest financial services institution in the Sultanate of Oman with a wider regional footprint.

- Be part of the Investment Banking Division and become a team leader of Investment Banking Origination.

- The Investment Banking Division is involved in complex fundraising financial advisory solutions including equity capital markets, private placements, structured equity, mergers and acquisitions, debt syndications for companies and/or projects, debt capital markets, senior, subordinated & structured products, Islamic finance and similar transactions.

Principal Accountabilities :

- Lead on the strategy for origination of Investment Banking and initiate, lead on and support initiatives.

- Lead on maintaining and covering client relationships for Investment Banking and on developing and pitching business ideas to clients.

- Lead on the origination of mandates for Investment Banking.

- Conceptualize and develop pitches and deliver them to clients in a compelling manner.

- Interact closely with the Debt Solutions Team and Equity Solutions Team of Investment Banking.

- Have at all times a good understanding of the business, markets and industries of the clients of Investment Banking.

- Identify and understand the clients- objectives and requirements.

- Develop and propose the marketing and placement strategy of all relevant transactions of Investment Banking and play a lead role in marketing and placing transactions.

- Interact closely and coordinate with the Placement Team of Global Institutional and Investment Banking.

- Develop, maintain and cover client relationships at various levels and within all relevant departments of the clients.

- Develop and maintain good working relationships with regulators (such as CBO, CMA, MSM) and other advisors (such as legal, accounting, technical, etc.).

- Lead on cross-cooperation and cross-selling between all relevant departments of the bank.

- Provide guidance and give feedback to team members and support team members as appropriate.

- Contribute to talent management, HR and recruitment requirements of Investment Banking.

- Attend to any other matters that are relevant for Investment Banking as required.

Personnel Specifications :

- Masters in Business Administration, Masters in Finance, Masters in Law, Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Accountant, or similar qualification.

- Minimum relevant experience of 12 years of which 5 years in an origination/client coverage role, preferably in the region.

- Excellent client relationship and cross-selling skills.

- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills and clear and transparent communicator.

- Self-starter with a strong drive to take the business forward.

- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a competitive environment and produce high-quality output.

- Strong team player with good inter-personal skills and strong ethics.

- Initiative and ability to generate ideas and carry the same forward.

- Experience in independently managing teams and delivering results.
