Job Responsibilities:
- The Deputy Head of AML will be responsible for developing, implementing and administering all aspects of the AML and Sanctions Compliance Program.
- This position is responsible for ensuring that corporate standards and industry/regulatory expectations relating to anti-money laundering policies, standards and practices are effectively implemented and followed.
- Coordinating and assisting in the administration of independent, and regulator and auditor examinations and reviews
- Coordinating responses to regulatory AML examinations and audits and actions taken to ensure deficiencies are corrected
- Maintains proficient knowledge of the rules and regulations
- Responsible for defining and managing the Program including risk assessment methodology, governance / processes, analysis and action plan(s).
- Promoting the Program, including ownership of obligations, establishing and maintaining a compliance framework, serving as a consultant on projects, evaluating compliance requirements, providing compliance training.
Educational Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in commerce, finance, accounting, and/or economics /MBA/CA
Professional Experience:
Minimum of ten (10) years of Banking experience with at least 3 years in a Senior Compliance role.

Head, Anti-Money Laundering Unit
Personal requirements:
- Strong knowledge of developing and implementing AML and Sanctions Programs in a top financial institution.
- Experience of successfully embedding policies and procedures into a multi-national organization
- Extensive knowledge of AML and regulation and expectations
- Able to demonstrate a practical and commercial approach to Compliance.
- Ability to offer strategic advice with common sense day-to-day responsibilities
- In-depth local market knowledge (covering all regions)
- Strong interpersonal, organization and communication skills
- Ability to lead or contribute to large, complex, working groups.
- Good problem solving, influencing and decision-making ability
- English essential (Arabic preferable)
