- Guides and coaches problem solving teams to eliminate product and process issues/defects by employing structured problem solving approach.  - Helps identify the right methodology and correct selection of tools to enable teams to solve problems - RIGHT FIRST TIME- thereby preventing recurrence of defects.  - Takes the lead in resolving complex problems.  - Provides training on problem solving tools to people in organization thereby building problem solving capability within the organization.  - Works closely with the Quality head to develop an active hopper of projects to drive down COPQ.  - Creates detailed Standard Operating Procedures for problem solving for plants to independently resolve issues.
